My cousin is the same age that I am, and she's having a baby in late June. Her shower is coming up and I really wanted to help her out. I just found out though, that she is moving to Peru and she says she doesn't need any big things like a crib or walker. What kind of things should I get her?

See if she needs a baby monitor or breast pump even. And you can never have enough sleepers, t-shirts and undies. I usually will make up a huge basket stuffed with all these goodies and then toss in a good teething ring, powder, etc..
You might want to stay away from things like those safety kits for outlets since Peru's outlets might be different.

Thanks! Those are some really good ideas. I guess part of me is sad that she wants to go back to Peru. I love my cousin, but she doesn't seem like she's thinking this decision well.

You're welcome! Yeah - also wipes are always in need! Diapers might be a bit bulky, but she'll certainly need newborn ones for coming home from the hospital.
Is this a sudden decision or something? Yeah, seems a strange time to want to pickup a move so far away from family.

DIAPERS.. and if you can afford it, find out if the baby is on formual, that stuff is EXPENSIVE, find out what kind they are on and get a few cans.. or buy a gift certificate to a grocery store/Wal-Mart.

Great suggestions ladies! I'll probably get her diapers, but I think she said she wants cloth diapers. Thanks again.

It's always nice to toss something in the basket for Mom too. Nice lotions from Bath & Body Works, a gift certificate for a spa, a book on baby's first year or Chicken Soup For The Mother's Soul, a subscription to Parents Magazine, a nice pair of PJs and slippers for the hospital, things like that. I've put together some nice baby and Mom baskets.
