Drudge Report...
FOX owner Rupert Murdoch has informed executives that ABC is attempting to maliciously 'destroy' the nation's most-watched series as it heads into the final weeks...
'We got all these ridiculous questions yesterday from an ABC producer,' a top IDOL source tells the DRUDGE REPORT. 'ABC can not beat us with programming, so they are attempting to bring us down with lies and false charges.'

The expose must be a bug bombshell if FOX is trying to sue. I don't believe the expose will have any effect on the show.

FOX believes ABC has interviewed a half a dozen losing contestants -- contestants who will claim AMERICAN IDOL producers and judges somehow manipulate the show's outcome!

ABCNEWS is planning to air the PRIMETIME LIVE exposé next Wednesday. A May Sweeps mauling.
"We got all these ridiculous questions yesterday from an ABC producer," a top IDOL source tells the DRUDGE REPORT. "ABC can not beat us with programming, so they are attempting to bring us down with lies and false charges."
At the center of the questions, the IDOL source claims, are the actions of show judge Paula Abdul.
"[ABC] is trying to say Paula somehow cheats and picks favorite singers to nurture, in violation of some sort of network standards," the IDOL source, who demanded anonymity, explains.
Fellow Judge Simon Cowell will tell TV show EXTRA Tuesday evening: "Paula, to be fair to her, will spend more time backstage with the contestants giving encouragement and everything else. But, that’s not a bad thing!"

A post Trenyce from AI2 left to her fans
"Hey all,
I would first like to just say that I really have a huge sense of responsibility to all of my fans, and that is why you all watching the ABC Primetime show is soooo important.
I am in a position at this moment in my career where I realize that I cannot fully move forward until I have said what needs to be said.
This "marriage" between Idol and I has been long overdue for a "divorce", and with all divorces, it is always good for both parties to be able to sensibly walk away with their integrity, dignity, finances, and belongings all in tact. Anything that is owed should be given, and any apologies that should be made, will be. Some divorces of course, are quick and sweet, but some may cause one or the other to feel the need to be dirty and unfair (usually the party in the wrong).
I am by no means trying to "get back at" the show or project any ill will to come to anyone on the show...All I have ever wanted was a fair chance to do what I love, and share the Gift that God has Blessed me with.
I used to be afraid of the Idol machine just like everyone else, but now I see what my purpose is...no matter if I am walking with some or none on my side.
The ABC show, I believe, has been moved to May 5th (next Thurs.)
I have been seeing little things pop up here and there, including a write up in the Globe magazine for the month of May that discloses a very important part of the whole American Idol scandal, but I ask that you all watch with a mindful eye and an open heart.
I appreciate each of you for reading between the lines early on, and I hope that when this is all over that the right people(me, especially) will be vindicated, and those who were hypocrites will have to answer to a bigger audience. Not being mean or crass, but the truth needs to be known and spoken.
It took a long time for me to get to the point where I could feel good carrying the purpose on my back, but I am a stronger person now than I was on that show, and I owe it to myself, my fans and most importantly God, to do what is right, no matter what it looks like to some!
So, with that being said, I ask that you all continue to pray, because I am sure that the retaliation is coming along with a possible lawsuit, but I am willing to fight that battle as well!
I love you all immensely.
MUAAAAAAHHHHHHH!
TRENYCE"

cocky aren't we Fox? ABC can't beat you? Desperate Housewives has been one of the few shows, along with CSI, who actually holds it's own in the ratings despite the onslaught of American Idol. I watch that show, I can't say I watch AI, so yes, IMO, ABC has better programming.
And while AI regularly beats Alias in the ratings, at least Alias' fans are devoted enough to watch the episodes twice (or more) and buy the shows on DVD. I am not kidding when I tell you I saw the DVD released for AI season 1 at a Dollar Tree store.
The cockier they come, the harder they fall. Arrested Development and the animated series are the only good shows Fox has left, the days of quality shows like The X-Files and Ally McBeal are sadly long gone.

Christ on a cracker...Of course losing contestants are going to say **** about AI...THEY LOST. I wonder why you don't see Kelly, Ruben, Clay, or Fantasia on that show...

Exactly. There are a lot of sour grapes here. Trenyce has been one to talk nothing but negative things about American Idol, as well as Ryan Starr, who dissed the show on "Surreal Life".

The Season 1 DVD wasn't really a typical DVD set. It was actually just an hour wrap-up of the season. If they had season sets, it would without a doubt, sell more.

EXACTLY! If AI is such a "scandal" why didnt they just drop out? We would be seeing a lot more dropping outs than just 2, and no one even dropped out for the first 3 seasons.

Exactly.
Without Idol... FOX is NOTHING. They have tried countless shows in the coveted post-Idol slot this year, they get decent to good ratings, and then when they move them to be on their own, they flop.
What I wonder is... why is FOX threatening legal action unless they truly think there's something REALLY damaging? If they weren't worried about, why are they saying they will sue? That to me says this is going to be a VERY harsh special that could significantly damage the show.

Clay and Kelly don't like AI either I would say considering Kelly dumped Fuller as a manager because he was never around and Clay did the same thing too I think.

CSI is on CBS, but thats not the point -.-, but yes I agree with that. ABC has been doing really well lately with DH and Lost- theyre on ALL the covers.
And yes girl, Clay and Kelly both dumped AI and went to The Firm. Well, Clay left the Firm because the owner left and went to another one, so Clayton followed. They treat him well.

I know it's successful, I said that it doesn't have the type of fanbase that would actually watch the show in reruns, there's a difference. That's one reason I'm not wild about reality programming.
But the guy who runs Fox said that ABC is flopping and can't come up with successful programming. When the fact is, Desperate Housewives has actually beat AI in the ratings a couple of times. This is no longer the 2003-2004 season when ABC was even getting beaten by UPN.

dumping her manager is the best thing to ever happen to Kelly IMO.
I hated her and what she stood for at first, but now I can say I actually think she's not so bad. I felt bad about liking Since You Been Gone until I found out she no longer associates herself as an American Idol the way you still see Ruben (who I think is boring) doing.

As much as I liked Ruben, I think he's a lot more limited than the others and may still have to rely on Idol a bit more than the others.
After last nights fiasco, I now know why FOX is freaking that things are going to be exposed. There HAS to be rigging going on. To have Puglsy still in the competition and Constantine gone - there's something very wrong going on. I've wondered since last year, but that was so obviously last night it wasn't funny. Not one person cheered for Scott - I even heard boos. I hope Scott's going to be proud of himself when he's the most hated marshmallow in the U.S.
I can see where Murdoch might have a gripe with ABC, doing an expose on FOX's biggest show, but I guess everything is fair game during sweeps week.

I miss the days when ABC was beaten by UPN. ABC is a terrible network. The only thing on there worth watching is Monday Night Football and I'm glad the losers only have that for 1 more year.

The only thing that special "exposed" was Corey Clark's revelations about a supposed sexual relationship with him and Paula Abdul.
I mostly wanted to watch it because I thought there would be more to it, like if American Idol really is rigged, any drama behind-the-scenes besides the Corey/Paula relationship...
God, I succumb to advertising yet again! There was nothing "explosive" about that BS.
