I've got to watch this...

I've always wondered if the voting was rigged because, especially this season, the people voted off(especially lately) have been "shockers" and I wonder if they are doing it because the ratings are down...

Only shockers this season were Jessica and Nikko. Nadia and Anwar could be considered shockers i guess but their peformances that got them voted off stunk anyway, so they werent really shockers.

I personally dont think its rigged.

It doesn't really matter that the ratings were down a few million. It's still the number 1 FOX show by far, and that's all they care about. As for rigging, I know everyone and their dog thinks it, but as much as I hate to admit it, I do believe that it is NOT rigged. I mean, if it were up to the producers, I think they'd rather have LaToya and Tamyra stay in the competition and go to the finale versus them leaving in the top 4 just for controversy.

Yes, we were shocked that Jessica, Nikko, Nadia, and Anwar left, but at the same time, when you REALLY think about it, it's not tremendously shocking. I think they more shocking thing is Scott surviving than the 6 leaving.

 Yes.. that's exactly what I thought. I thought it was rigged last season, but this season I don't really feel that way... because IMO, the most talented people (with the exception of one - cough ahem - ) are still in the competition.

I've seen some stuff on another board about what this may be about... oh it's juicy.

Relationships between judges and the contestants.

Yes... that.

Actually, the show isn't down in the ratings this season- it's up by about 5%. But the "Idol is pop culture phenomenon" phase of the show is definitely over, being eclipsed by both Housewives and Lost this season.

That would suck if this special makes FOX cancel American Idol...forever.
