I don't think she ever got so far as to perform opera -- she studied it as a child, but only for a few years before deciding she didn't have the passion or dedication required to make it a serious career goal. It did spark her interest in acting, though.

I've only heard her sing a couple of times -- in the musical Xena episode (I think it was called Bitter Suite) and when she was on Saturday Night Live -- but she was very good.

Jasmine Guy also play Rizzo on Broadway's Grease around 1997 or '98.
