I miss last year because I liked over half of them. I miss Jasmine, Diana, George, LaToya... heck I even miss `Tasia, John, and Jennifer. This year, I'm only going crazy for Carrie. I could care less about the other 7.

They were easier to connect with, and they were all very likeable. Even if they were bad, you still enjoyed seeing them. This year, even if they are good [Anwar, Nadia, Antony, etc] it's not as exciting.

Well, I was craaazy obsessed with season 3 last year, but looking back on it now, I prefer season 4 WAY WAY WAY WAY over season 3... for a few reasons.
- Too much Fantasia!: The judges' love for Fantasia... was sickening. I mean she was GOOD, but they treated her like she was some goddess! Please..."Summertime" was totally NOT the best performance ever on American Idol. The best performance ever to date, I'd think, would be Kelly Clarkson's "Natural Woman." It seemed like every goddamn thing she did was supposedly the greatest thing since sliced bread. She could have a sucky week, and Randy/Paula would just be like "but you're still great" or "but I still think you're the best singer in the competition" or act as if she was perfect already and it didn't matter when she made mistakes. I was just like... GET OVER IT! She was the obvious favorite of the judges and it just irritated me beyond belief how much they overexaggerated the fact that she was the obvious judges' favorite. haha phew that felt good.
- The divas: I absolutely hated the concept of the 3 divas - Jennifer, LaToya, and Fantasia, being the supposed greatest contestants. Ohhh, they were in the bottom 3, ohhh no, the world is ending! Give me a break. YEAH, they had great voices, but America doesn't want someone only with a great voice - they want a person with a likeable personality and someone who can perform! Jennifer sometimes came off as arrogant, LaToya probably did have the best voice out of all the season 3 idols but she didn't show off her personality enough... and even Simon said so, and Fantasia, like I said before, was just waaayyyyyy overrated.
- "Too young for the competition": AHHH this drove me insane as well. Whenever Simon would say that John, Jasmine, or Diana was too young for the competition.. I mean even though I love Simon, I seriously wanted to smack him. If you're gonna bitch about how people are too young for the competition, suck it up.. its in the RULES... the lowest age limit is 16 so get over it! You're going to get some young people! That doesn't make them any less worthy of winning the competition rather than the so called more experienced contestants.
- Weird themes: Okay...see this is one of the reasons I love season 4 more. Their themes are SO much easier which is why there are usually more contestants who perform well each night rather than ones who perform badly. Let's see...Barry Manilow? Hell half of the idols last year didn't even know any Manilow songs. GLORIA ESTEFAN? That's such an awkward theme...and it's reeeaallly difficult, hence why John Stevens probably got voted out that night. Like Simon said.. latin music just didn't work with John Stevens. Not really his fault, it's just the theme was really hard. With this year, each contestant can fit his/her personality into the theme somehow.

There's more, but I can't think of anything else right now, lol. I just really prefer this year because I have a lot more favorites and really there's only one person in the finals who I dislike...and last year there were, well, a few. But there is really no one this year that SUCKS. Not even...the person I dislike. The talent is way better this year imo and it's the best talent out of any of the other seasons. So I guess I'd say I miss season 3 a little, but not really.
