Tonight's theme btw, according to what I've heard from IDF, who heard it from Ryan's morning show, is ...... Musicals. Sounds a bit un-American Idol like, as Simon always criticizes everything as a "broadway performance", But, that's what they got. I know a few people on this board who would be excited. :D

Here's some confirmation (hopefully)

None of the singers, including Bice and Maroulis, are as knowledgeable about music as they should be, Warwick contends.

Scott Savol - The Impossible Dream :eek:

The first 2 lines were weird. It looks like he's in the solar system. It's pretty boring throughout. He doesn't even seem like he's trying. But, he almost nailed the last note. The Kelly, Diana, Fantasia, Ruben group song was better.

Randy - Just "aiight", it ended with a bang
Paula - It was one of the most heartfelt performances of the season so far. Wow.
Simon - From presentation to vocals, it was just ordinary.

If I believe John Stevens sang this at the concert. Unless... I'm way off. :lol: But anyway, Constantine is starting off a bit slow, but I guess that's what the song needs. He changes the key, and you can see Paula clapping at the judges table... Hmm. He hits a good high note. And ooh lookie there, a standing ovation from Paula, and wow, a first -- Paula looking at the audience and telling them to clap/stand. Overall, a really impressive performance for a non-Constantine fan here.

Simon - 7 on the vocals, 9.5 on the "pouting"

She looks very old-fashioned. Nice turqoiuse dress. The song is very uneventful in the beginning, but she's singing it really well, and at the end, she really brings it :D :D

Randy - Boring song, but she sang it really well
Paula - You looked elegant, and we were all excited when you were hitting the high notes, bravo.
Simon - You sang it well, but it reminded me of a (i didn't hear what he said) commercial in 1935, because it was a little too old-fashioned.

...but I was rather disappointed in it. I kept on waiting for someone to sing something from Chicago or Grease at least. I now know that they didn't have the rights to current shows' songs, but come onnnn. The songs they chose were so damn old. Anyway...

Scott: This is a milestone everyone. For the first time ever, I actually liked him! Like full out, liked him! Wow. He was really good tonight.

Constantine: Yes David, John Stevens sang this at the concert haha. I thought Constantine did really really well tonight. The background was a little weird because I'm familiar with the song and idk I just expected it to be slower. But yeah, I loved him.

Carrie: I thought she was really good too...I didn't really like her song choice though.

Vonzell: AHHH I LOVED HER! If a girl won this, I'd prefer it to be her but we all know it'd probably be Carrie so yeah.

Anthony: I honestly didn't think it was THAT bad, considering the fact that I hate that song and cringed once he said he'd be singing it. But it wasn't as terrible as they said it was imo.

Nikko: He was pretty good, but not AMAZING...at least I thought that. I dunno, I've just liked him a lot more in the semifinals than in the finals I guess. - shrug -
