I thought it was pretty good, but I can't compare it to the British version cause I've never seen it before.

Woohoo... IMO it ruled i wasn't gonna watch it at first but when i watched connan last night and heard what it was gonna be like i said i had to watch it. It lived up to my expectations. I love that stupid slap in the face comedy and the clips for next week look helarious(i suck at spelling) I know it isn't really like Arrested Development but i think it's humor seems like that.

The Office BEAT the Idol-boosted(or so everyone thought) Life on a Stick!!!
FOX moved into first for the 9 p.m. hour, driven by the 11.9/19 for "American Idol," though the premiere numbers for "Life on a Stick" (5.5/9) were disappointing. NBC was second with "The Apprentice" (7.9/12) and the 7.5/12 premiere of "The Office," which retained nearly all of its lead-in. CBS' basketball was third with a 7.6/12. ABC was well behind that top pack with two repeats of "Jake." UPN's wrestling did a 3.4/5 in its second hour, more than three times better than the totals for The WB's "Starlet" encore.

Of course the numbers are going to be good when it is conveniently sandwiched right between The Apprentice and ER. Wait until it goes to its regular time slot after Scrubs. It will be DOA. This is exactly what happend to Committed. It started with great ratings and went down and down and down. This will crash and in a hurry.
I'm probably going to join the majority of TV critics across the country by saying NBC's version of The Office is not as good as the original version.
But that's not to say I didn't enjoy it. There were some generally laugh out loud moments, and I do applaud any attempt that is made to break away from the "tradtional" sitcom format, with a pumped up laugh track and the line-line joke patter, but I don't see it becoming the cult hit that the original has become.
Lightning never strikes twice.
Still, I will watch it. It's a very funny show.

I don't watch alot of televison these days, due to there being only reality shows on, and I hate watching people who enjoy being watched. So last night I thought I would give "The Office" a chance, and I am glad I did. I mean I wasn't laughing from start to finish, but I also didn't have a laugh track telling me to laugh at this moment. It will be ashame if this show is not given a chance. I think this is better than Joey and they are still letting that train wreck stay on the air.
Remember Seinfeld was almost canceled before it had a chance.
This is a good show. JMO. ;)

Unfortunatly, it's a style of comedy that we're not used to seeing on Network TV.
The Networks always crow about wanting to do something "different" or "breaking the molds" and all the other cliches, But they're not willing to give those few "different" shows a chance.

Ouch. You were right. It even lost to pathetic ABC and Rodney.
That was surprising... I expected it 3rd behind House and The Amazing Race.
"House" may have hit new series highs with its 11.3/17 to give FOX a second straight hour. The first of two hours of "The Amazing Race" on CBS was second with a 7.7/12. ABC's "According to Jim" and "Rodney" claimed third. On NBC, "Scrubs" (4.3/7) and "The Office" (4.1/6) could only muster a fourth place finish. UPN's new "Veronica Mars" had a weak 1.6/2, though that was enough to beat "The Starlet" on The WB.

The race cards, I usually don't laugh at stuff like that, but that was funny!
I like this show. It keeps me coming back. Steve Carell is funny. The Chris Rock references again funny.

USA Network is showing repeats of the show.
I hope this helps, because this show is better than Arrested Development.

Actually CNBC and the USA Network are re-showing the episodes already so it's definatley getting it's air time.
I'm a huge fan of the original but I'm generally getting a good laugh out of this series and Steve Carrell.
I just hope I don't come down with a case of Hotdog fingers or Count Choculitis!!

Yeah.......I'm accustomed to seeing something funny and this isn't. Have to say there haven't been too many new sitcoms recently that have been any good.

Oh well, to each his own...
