I kind of wonder why The Cosby Show was absent.

Cheers, although I like every show listed.

And it makes absolutely no sense to not include The Cosby Show -- it owned the sitcom for five straight seasons.

the Priscilla Barnes years were strictly 1980's and I consider those the best seasons. Some shows weren't confined to just one decade. Yes, TC is from the 70's, but so are DS and FOL

I would have said Married With Children, but since it's not there, I'll go with The Facts of Life.

Well the difference is that by the time TC made it into the 80's it was basically considered dead. and by the time FOL got into the 80's it was hitting its peak, and is generally considered an 80's show. TC is by far and away considered an 70's show. but hey to each their own.

TC was considered dead? it was #2 in the 79-80 season, and remained a top 10 hit through 1983. The late 70's were definately it's peak years, but it was probably the only ABC 70's sitcom that was still a viable ratings hit into the 1980's, shows like Happy Days and Laverne And Shirley plummetted during the 79-80 season, and shows like Mork And Mindy and Taxi (which is sad because IMO, it was the best ABC 70's sitcom period) fell even harder, yet TC stayed top 10 for 3 more seasons after that. If TC was dead between 1980-1983, I wanna know what was actually alive. DS's peak season was 80-81 and that was only #17 while TC was still top 10 at that time. How was TC dead and DS alive? (I actually prefer DS, but making a point)

I like ALF, Cheers, The Facts of Life, and Family Ties but my favorite 80s sitcom is Newhart.

I totally agree. Mine isn't on there either. Would be "Who's The Boss?" or "Night Court".
