I take it Murphy Brown really flopped on N@N. I also figure Roseanne did way better than Murphy during the 11:00 hour they split hence the double take of Roseanne. It's a shame MB underperformed.

 Wings back on N@N this totally rocks! Does that mean TVLAND will be done with the Friday Marathon of Wings, or will that continue?

Wow Murphy Brown must have done very terribly :(

Glad to see Who's the Boss? Back at 1 am :woohoo:

I don't get it at all! I've yet to see it much at all - they keep moving it around so much! I LOVED Murphy Brown and Rosanne, only the first few seasons. I can't believe they're putting three Rosanne eps. on nightly that close together. If anything, I would have thought they would move the MB spot UP.

N@N just goes from bad to worse..... :(

It is nice to see one of these last minute changes again, they keep it interesting. I had a feeling one may be coming soon, I also had a feeling that Wings would eventually return to the line-up.

I think it would make more sense to put a 2nd Who's The Boss at 1:30am, or any of the other shows. 4 times a night should be the maximum a show is aired outside of marathons. A bit too much Roseanne.

Good to see Roseanne double takes back on at 2 a.m.

Good to see that Murphy Brown flopped. (never cared for that show at all...)

Good to see Wings back on N@N. (definitely wasn't expecting this...)

even tho I am a bigger fan of Roseanne, I'm apalled at how badly N@N's treated MB. MB actually lasted one season longer than Roseanne did yet Nick will air Roseanne 4 times a night while MB only airs once in the wee hours? makes no sense.

Nick At Nite is TOO homogenized right now, with the endless streams of Full House, Fresh Prince and Roseanne, it's a shame they always treat the "exclusive" shows like crap. People can watch those 3 shows on other networks, but N@N's the only outlet to see MB, WTB and Wings and they get the worst treatment.

why is that good? I, like you, prefer Roseanne 100 times to Murphy Brown, but however, if I want a Roseanne fix, I also can watch it on Oxygen and local syndication. The show is overexposed and I can admit it. N@N was better back when they had a diverse playlist, right now if you're not Full House, Fresh Prince or Roseanne (they are even beginning to do away with Cosby Show), N@N treats you like crap. Those shows are all overexposed, and then the shows that aren't shown too much like MB, Wings and Who's The Boss are treated like dirt.

Nick was better before they showed a show 5 times a night, as much as I love Roseanne, I can't say I'd be surprised if she gets a Cosby style backlash in here soon, remember when everyone suddenly decided they hated The Cosby Show a few years ago here? People decided it was the worst show ever even tho 99% of those people watched it every week on NBC, but Nick At Nite aired it so much that they decided they'd rather watch the trashiest reality show next to it.

I think N@N should be fair enough to MB to at least run through the entire series once, but I'm sure they'll stop midway around the fourth or fifth season. I'd rather watch it than FH or FP.

I agree, all the way. Roseanne is on 4 different channels in my area, N@N, Oxgyen and two locals. That's too much IMO. Heck even Seinfeld isn't on that much, neither is Friends or Will and Grace.

Nick@Nite has made a slight change to this schedule. Triple late night shot of Roseanne (1:30-3a) is now just a double take (2-3a).

Sun-Thu
1:30AM Murphy Brown (replaces Roseanne)

The 1:30am episode and 3:00am Murphy Brown episodes will be the same.

It should be 2 new episodes each night... 11pm and 1130pm will either be repeats of the previous nights 2am and 230am or they will re-air at 2am and 230am that night.

Small Change
Over at the TV Land Boards, their rep is saying:

Fri-Sat:
3:00 AM: Murphy Brown (Replaces Roseanne)
3:30 AM: Wings (Replaces Murphy Brown)

Wings now gets 7 per week, while the Weekend Murphy episodes sync up with the weekday airings, and the two extra 3 AM Roseannes are gone

Well I'm not as network savvy as say, Pav, but my guess is that Murphy Brown was scoring poor ratings? It doesn't matter if the show lasted 20 years, if it isn't performing well, why should N@N air it multiple times a night? You could say out of consideration for the MB fans who are eager to see the entire series...but I'm afraid things don't work that way. :-/ It's all about the ratings, apparently...

I definitely agree with you here. I don't know how the ratings were for the three "exclusive" shows you mention, but I'm guessing they either weren't good, or were decent, but N@N might be expecting boffo ratings for all their shows these days, and the ones that underperform are given limited airings and/or are sent to the graveyard shift. I think that's what happened to Family Ties, and the sad truth is that is what would probably happen to the majority of the shows I'd like to see on N@N. Either that, or they'd get the Charles in Charge treatment where they're only played early in the morning form the get-go...

And as for why do I think its good that Murphy Brown flopped? That's easy; personally, I have zero interest in the show, and would rather see something else that I like in its slot. (yes, Roseanne included, even though it is overplayed.) I can understand why others would be upset, but as I said earlier, I never cared for the show at all. It's my personal preference...

Full House is getting N@N huge ratings right now. Pav posted something about it in the Full House forums this morning. Go read it.

Yes N@N has become all about ratings, which is really kind of sad because it means if shows don't do as well as Roseanne or Full House, then they automatically get shoved to the graveyard shift/slot.

Murphy Brown tanked at 11:30PM. I'm surprised it lasted there THAT long. With Fresh Prince and Roseanne, I guess they could have afforded that. Full House does well in the kid audience, N@N's target is 18-49, though, which Roseanne and Fresh Prince strives in.

I think a lot of networks think that way. Even ABC, CBS, etc. If a show doesn't pull in huge ratings like one of its other hits, out it goes.

Thursday's a bad night for it but considering the current state of sitcoms I don't know where a good night would be.

TV has always been about ratings.... and to a lesser degree, award wins.

But for something like N@N, they are no awards to be won, so ratings alone have to hold the show up. I never watched MB on N@N anyways.... the DVD came out like 2 days after it began airing.

If a show does bad in the ratings, and gets no love from critics -- chances are it won't return.

Most shows with terrible ratings (Arrested Development, Veronica Mars) get picked up because they're critical hits. Now, if a show like Rodney were getting terrible ratings (which it is, sort of).... it'll be gone in a flash.

I agree with BuffySlayer, it makes no sense that you can catch Fresh Prince, Roseanne, and Full House on up to 3 different networks but WTB?, MB, and Wings air on N@N ONLY, and the shows that air on 3 networs are getting overplayed by N@N, and the 3 you cant catch anywhere else are shoved into the wee hours of the morning. Sure, Full House, Roseanne, and FP are huge rating hits but they also air on other channels, cant N@N, oh I dont know, drop one of the 9:00 airings of FH or the 11:00 airings of Roseanne to fit in WTB?, MB or Wings? Heck, drop a 12:00 airing of FP for all I care, it's better than 3 in the morning. So either cut down on FH, Roseanne, and FP or drop the airings of them on other networks.

I agree, gawd, I can remember when N@N had a diverse lineup of shows, and didn't seem to care about ratings then.

Roseanne is on 4 channels in my area alone, it's on more than Friends, Will and Grace and Seinfeld combined
