It was probably the Happy Days-Laverne and Shirley crossover shows. They're the first ones that come to mind.

it's an episode of a show where some or all of the characters from another show guest star-like on "The Beverly Hillbillies" when the Clampetts would visit Hooterville, and they would have some or all of the characters from "Petticoat Junction" guest star-and, a couple times, characters from "Green Acres" too.

I change my recollection because I did see the Beverly Hillbillies crossover episodes before the HD ones although I think I saw them in syndication.

years ago, the ones between "Gomer Pyle: U.S.M.C." & "The Andy Griffith show". (I didn't know that they were crossover episodes at first, though because, at the time, I had never heard of "The Andy Griffith show". I used to watch the daytime reruns of it, which were called "Andy of Mayberry" and the first crossover with Gomer that I saw was when Ron Howard guested as Opie, but, for some reason, I didn't connect the 2 shows in my mind.)

Three's Compagny and Three's a crowd

There was never a crossover episode between Three's Company and Three's a Crowd because Three's A Crowd was Three's Company-LOL Three's Company was just renamed so it was the same show with a different title.

What exactly is a crossover?

Where a character from another show appears on that show.

Example: Steve Urkel from Family Matters appeared on both Full House and Step By Step(all were on ABC at the time).

When Vicky's Dad and Vicky was at the Three;s Company Apt the series was still called Three's Company. See there is no such thing as a crossover because Three's Company is Three's a Crowd. Now there was a Crossover between the spinoff THe Ropers and Three's Company because Larry appeared on the Ropers and Jack, Janet and Chrissy also appeared on the Ropers. But Vicky and her Father are Three's Company/Three's a Crowd characters which eliminates the talk of crossover

Sorry,if I offend you.I guess,I mixt crossovers with spinoffs. That's all.In that case,my fav is in cartoon. When the Road Runner did a race with Speedy Gonzales. That was the best crossover ever

Mine was probably the "Empty Nest"/"Golden Girls" crossovers. My family and I used to watch that show when it was originally on. I was little, but I have some vague memories.

another good one was when Mary Ann, The Skipper, The Proffesor and Gilligan from Gilligans Island all guest-starred on an episode of Alf.

I'm not sure what the very first crossover I saw was, but it had to be either...

Diff'rent Strokes/Facts of Life
Diff'rent Strokes/Hello Larry (though I had no idea what the hell "Hello Larry" was at the time)
Diff'rent Strokes/Silver Spoons

As a kid, I watched "Strokes", "Spoons" and "Facts" religiously and remember most of those crossover eps, so it had to be one of those...
