Racking my brain for a name

Am trying to remember the name of a 70's or 80's sitcom with the main character a Doctor raising two daughters, one of whom was McKencie Phillips if I remember correctly and it had to be much later than One Day at a time.
The doctor ran a clinic, had a large dog that ran the house and the other daughter was the smart one. The only thing I remember clearly about it was they were constantly running the Joe Izuzu commercials with David Leisure. Anyboody remember the name of this one.

I think you are talking about Empty Nest (1988-1995)

But McKenzie Phillips wasn't a cast member.

It starred Richard Mulligan as a widowed pediatrician, and Dinah Manoff and Kristy McNichol as his daughters. It also starred David Leisure.
