Oh no, why can't people in Hollywood come up with original ideas? Remakes like this usually turn out to be awful.

No, no, no, no! This is such a bad idea. Remakes are horrid, IMHO. I remember all to well the fiasco that was The Avengers movie (1998). Patrick Macnee and Dame Diana Rigg are the only Steed and Mrs. Peel. It was foolish of Hollywood to think they could duplicate their chemistry. They were a one of a kind team. Same goes for the cast of The Honeymooners. It was the fabulous dynamic/chemistry of the cast that made the show so special and so entertaining. I'm still in shock that they are actually making a Honeymooners remake. It makes me so mad.

Wow! A black version of "The Honeymooners".omg: What's wrong with this picture? I like the original TV show with Jackie Gleason and Art Carney. They're all white. Why did Paramount came up with this odd idea. The movie is going to be out this summer. I'm going to see it!

man, this is getting really pathetic...I guess an "I Love Lucy" movie can't be too far behind...
Hey Cedic, just because you're overweight, doesn't mean you can play Ralph Kramden...there's a little more to it than that!

If they're going to do this to The Honeymooners than I can't trust Hollywood anymore. HEY HOLLYWOOD, YOU NEED TO LEARN HOW TO PAY RESPECT TO CLASSICS!

I agree with all of ya'll who don't wanna see this happen. I don't wanna see a black Honeymooners movie either. White actors should be playing the characters in the Honeymooners movie. Hollywood is really gettin pathetic.

It's not about coming up with ideas. Most of they're stuff is original, stupd, but original. When you make a movie based on a television show, you should stay true to form.

This is sacrilege. The Honeymooners was a pioneering show and should never, never have been "re-made". I hope this movie sinks like a stone.
As an actor, do you really want a build a career based on playing roles that other people originated?? I would want to find my own characters, rather than doing something that someone else has already done.
Not all remakes are bad, but there's just too damn many of them. Between this and Steve Martin (who I like) taking on The Pink Panther, I've really lost faith in Hollywood.
Cedric ought to be ashamed for even thinking about playing Ralph Kramden. Jackie Gleason was not dubbed "The Great One" for nothing...Cedric is the "I-Wish-I-Was-One-Tenth-As-Great-One."

Oh boy, Cedric the Entertainer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He's my favorite! My God, the only thing I'm gonna do that week is watch all of Cedrics shows, until the movie comes out. Boy, they're gonna see me at my movie theatre alot after this movie comes out! I'll be the snack bar's best customer! I'll probably digest 25 large popcorns a day, thats how many times I'm gonna see this in a day! I'll be at that theatre every day until the last showing! Give me oxygen! Oh boy, Cedric!
(EXCUSE ME FOR A MINUTE WHILE I VOMIT MY GUTS OUT)
OH BOY, CEDRIC! :happyface
LETS START A CEDRIC APPRECIATION THREAD! LETS ALL COUNT DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL THIS WONDERFUL, (oh you might have to edit that last word, I know you're not aloud to use foul language on these boards) I MEAN.... LETS COUNT DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL THIS PIECE OF CRAP OF A MOVIE COMES OUT!
how dare they make fun of the most legendary tv figure of all time by giving Cedric the Entertainer Jackie Gleason's classic part! they sure got nerve...
Cedric the Entertainer? Its gonna take him some time before he can fill Jackie's shoes. I'll give him.......... an eternity or 2, i know its probably gonna take alot longer, but lets be nice, and give him the benefit of the doubt! Cedric the Entertainer..... wannabe Ralph Kramden.... much to be desired.

My sentiments exactly. Actually I made a post just similar to this one. It's almost sacriligious that they desintegrate a show's concept in such a way as to change the ethnicity of a character.

Speaking for myself, I'm just upset that they remade it period. However, I do have a distaste for the Politically correcting of characters in remakes.

What I don't understand is why adaptions and remakes looked upon as "****ty" or "crappy"
Hollywood is at just as much fault as we are for keeping these stereotypes alive. The idea of an adaptation or a remake is to pay respect. That's the whole point. Well, at least it is for me. I don't know what Hollywood thinks anymore... but I do know that if you're going to remake a movie like the Honeymooners cast look alikes and combine the plots of the episodes into a plot for the movie and that'll be that. Stay faithful to the material and no one would bitch.
