I'd love to have this on DVD, too. When I was growing up I'd stay up really late and watch it while everybody else was fast asleep.
The Honeymooners would have to be my favorite as well. :)

By far Leave it to Beaver, Dennis the Menace, The Honymooners or Lassie (if that is considered a sitcom). Andy Griffith was good, too.

I Love Lucy
For part B&W shows I would put Andy Griffith Show and Beverly Hillbillies ahead of it.

I'll have to say Leave It To Beaver. I'd also say The Andy Griffith Show, except it ran color for its last three seasons.

I would have to say The Honeymooners. I used to alway wish they had done more episodes. When Jackie Gleason pulled some more out of his vault I was too excited. The color one hour version of the Honeymooners is good to but they have singing interludes in it and Audrey and Joyce aren't in it. But the jokes are still there. Secretly I like Amos & Andy (the t.v show) not the movies! If any of you ever see a dvd or vhs of this show you'll see it's more funny than controversial! Kingfish is a riot!!!!

Far and away without a doubt.... The Dick Van Dyke Show.
The Honeymooners, I Love Lucy, The Andy Griffith Show and The Danny Thomas Show/Make Room For Daddy are good too.... but TDVDS is definitely the best.

Probably "I Love Lucy."
But, for shows that only started out as black & white, definitely "Bewitched" (b&w for the first two seasons).
Favorite non-comedy b&w... "The Rifleman."
