The show is just being reduced by 3 episodes, not cancelled. Still worth writing for though. I hate stamps so I'm starting an email campaign. askfox@fox.com.

This seems to be the general replay from ask fox, if anyone gets anything different let me know:

Thank you for your e-mail and your passionate support of Arrested Development. While the show has finished production for its second season, contrary to the rumors you may have heard or read on the internet, it is NOT cancelled.

We at FOX love Arrested Development and we look forward to having the Bluth family back on FOX in the future – hopefully for many years. You can help make the show a bigger success by getting as many people as possible to start watching the show this Sunday and every Sunday at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.

Thanks for writing

"Just being reduced"? Being reduced is a nearly sure sign of cancellation. I don't buy Fox's lies. History speaks for itself: Andy Richter, Undeclared, Action, Dark Angel, Greg the Bunny, Futurama. The list goes on and on.

AD, is by far the best sitcom on TV right now. It has a terrible time slot, and should be on a different night, imo.
I signed the petition! Thanks for the info!

Actually, Arrested Development has the best timeslot imaginable, unless it were to be placed following American Idol.

I don't really think going against a top 15 show like Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is really that great of a timeslot. At least they didn't put it against Desperate Housewives like they planned. However other than American Idol, I really don't think Fox has any good shows, ratings wise anyhow.

I think it would be a good timeslot, if ABC had not come along w/ their Sun. line up.

But as someone commented on another board, Arrested is pulling in about the same amount of viewers as Malcolm in the Middle and That 70s show, and both of those shows are coming back next year. Fox will be making a huge mistake if they cancel the emmy winner for best comedy. It probably would have won the Golden Globe too if people would realize "Housewives" is far from a comedy.

I'm really hopeful that it will be picked up by another network, it's being shopped around. I think it would be perfect for HBO, where the execs respect artistic integrity and the audience is smart and appreciates genius tv.

As much as i'd love to see the show continue, I guess all good things come to an end and sometimes prematurely...

I know a few new shows on FOX that you might like coming up soon, "Ultimate Free Ride" just premiered and it's shaping up to be a pretty good slightly improvisational comedy show about a slacker moving in with his parents for a free ride SANS the title :), and another one called the loop which I don't know much about but it looks good from the previews at www.ultimatefreeride.com ...
