My family has never gone to church on Sundays. We believe in God,and we're Catholic, but I,for one, find church to be incredibly boring.Does anyone willingly go,or are you forced to go?

I used to go on Saturday nights, but now i dont go at all.It slips my mind to go usually, and as much as i am a believer in Christ, and God,i dont think i have to go to Church every Sunday.God is everywhere.Besides,he knows that i'm only there because i feel like i need to make the effort, its not something i want to do.

I think its specifically limiting religious discussion, but it depends on what you call a discussion

We used to go to Catholic church every sunday when I was a kid. I hated it. That hour seemed to drag on forever. We stopped going in 1984 when my grandma died. I wouldn't mind getting back into it now though.

People can simply answer the question as to whether they attend church or not. Beyond that, no further religious discussion is allowed.
I don't attend church. I tell myself that I'm going to start, but so far, it hasn't happened.

Um, how was my post out of bounds? I never said anything directly about religion, all i was talking about was what a bad church we had. Never did I mention anything about religion, but whatever.

I went on December 19th because my sister and baby brother were in a Christmas play, otherwise, I haven't been in at least 3 years. Even back then, I only went occasionally and usually only to Sunday school.

The only time in my life that I've been to church is for a short stint when I was in 7th grade and when I was a baby. I want to go back but I'm not about to make my mom go with me because then she'll only be there because I'm making her. And I dont really want to go alone. I HATE when people ask me what religion I am. I feel like I'm not allowed to say anything because I'm not saved.

When I do go to church, I go on Saturday nights. I hate waking up in the morning to go to church and 5 pm on a Saturday evening is a lot nicer time for me. I can't even remember the last time I went to my church on a Sunday morning. It's been YEARS. Well, maybe I did for Easter.
I go to church on Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening.

No. First of all, I'm not a real fan of organized religion. Second, the whole topic of religion bores me. Third, no one in my family is religious. My mom used to be, but not as much now. I don't really even have a specific religion.
I agree with what Pretty in Purple said about God being everywhere. I don't think I have to be in a specific place at a specific time to talk to God or anything.
Besides, I  sleep. :D

I've never been to an actual "church service". I was raised a Christian, went to a Christian school until last year (now homeschooled), ect, but I don't feel the need to go to church to worship God. You can do that anywhere.

I hate it when any sort of Biblical message is presented to me in Old English and in monotone. It's annoying and it's boring. It doesn't make you want to listen either.

I go once in awhile. I found the constant singing very boring. I perfer the older gospel songs and hymns. I don't like the newer songs. I do read the bible, sometimes, and I love to watch Joel Osteen. He is my favorite pastor.

I see Charles Stanley and Joel Olsteen on TV every Sunday. There was a time that I did go to church. I've been to many. I've studied different religions. I will soon go to a Christian Church near where I live because I think (for me personally) it's important.
Today is the lords day everybody!
Let me tell you about my church:

at the intersection of Charbo and Karen Streets, hence the name

Charles Stanely is good. I love how he can quote just about anything from the Bible, but he always holds it... like for comfort or something. He's a good speaker.
Anyway, I go to Church every Sunday and most Weds. I am fortuante to have a really awesome church, like all churches we have our problems, but we have a great church staff.

I go to my church every Sunday, but I don't go to church services because my family couldn't give two craps about church. I started off Catholic, only because my dad went to a Catholic church, but I hated it there and started going to a Methodist church with my friend and I ended up making my confirmation there and stuff. I love it there. I go to a Sunday school-ish class every Sunday for high school kids, plus we go on a mission trip in the summer.

I was going to PM you Janice on the policy of religious topics here (at Sitcoms Online) since it too, like political topics can be hot-button and emotional and it brings all sorts from out of the woodwork.
I'll gladly answer this topic: No I never have, except once. I attended a church wedding for a long time friend I've known since elementary school in the 5th grade.
All most churches care nowadays is money, wealth and power instead of helping the less fortunate. That's my two cents on the subject.

That's the main reason that I left my first church. The people there were psycho money hungry nutcases. We actually do stuff at the church I go to now.

Not that I mind donating, but the collection plate went from coming around the aisles each mass service, twice to 4 times. So whomever said churches just want money are correct.

I agree. It kind of makes me mad when you see these HUGE churches, or ones that seem to always be under renovation, and they're sitting on totally tax-free land. ohno: Some people are happy to worship in a basement ya know.
