I admit I cringe most times I see something like this ("stunt casting" invariably brings out the skeptic in me), but this wasn't bad at all. Rue McClanahan's still an old pro at the sitcom craft, and thankfully her character, Sylvia, was not drawn as a clone of her character from "The Golden Girls." There was even the requisite plot twist at the end. The "B" plot was somewhat amusing, if only to see the three kids trying to work as a unit instead of against each other. Not a classic ep by any means, but "H&F" has done worse.
One question, though: A scene was shot at a Citibank branch in the fictional town of Glen Falls, Ohio, where the series takes place. I know Citi is one of the nation's largest banks, but does it have branches in Ohio? (Specifically northeast Ohio, since according to previous references, the town is near Cleveland.) Of course, "Hope & Faith" is shot in New York City, where Citi has a major presence; one wonders whether this was simply product placement by the producers.
