View Full Version : Richard Pryor movie?
Is there a Richard Pryor movie in the works? I heard something about the possibility about a movie being made about Pryor. If so, who will play Pryor?
They should make a Richard Pryor movie. He had a lot of women and drugs, like Ray Charles, and look how "Ray" did.
If they made a Richard Pryor movie, who should play him? I don't know, who I would cast. It has to be somebody funny, but can act dramatically.
If you go by looks, Steve Harvey would be perfect. But I don't think he has the acting ability for a movie like this.

I think Martin Lawrence would make a better Richard Pryor. I see a lot of Richard in him.

I heard a long time ago that Damon Wayans or Eddie Griffin were gonna play Richard in a movie about his life but nothin happened. Steve Harvey does look like Richard but i don't know if it would work having Steve play him.

I'd say Steve is a bit too old to play Pryor though, he's almost 50

How about Jamie Foxx? He's a great actor and a comedian too. With Ray, he proved he can handle a biopic brilliantly.
Jamie Foxx is my ideal choice. He is funny, and proved he can do drama. However he does look a little bit like Ray Charles, same can't be said about Richard Pryor. But after doing "Ray", I don't think he would do to it, in fear of getting type cast as the biography guy.
Are there any Richard Pryor biography books? Hollywood prefers to make biography movies based on books.

Damon Wayans probably would come close to looking like him. He did a spoof of him on In Living Color years ago. He really did resemble him.

I agree about Jamie Foxx... if he did a movie on Richard Pryor, he'd forever be associated as "the guy who does biopics"

I saw Richard's standup movie this past weekend Live On Sunset Strip. It was alright. It wasn't that funny. I also saw his tv show on dvd. I rented it from Blockbuster. I saw another standup of his called Here & Now when he was in New Orleans. That wasn't that funny. It's somethin about his standups that aren't that funny to me.
