The other night i was watching the lifetime Unsolved and they had a case about a mother and daughter who were killed at their house. Some neighbor saw a girl and guy on the front steps while it was supposedly happeneing. They had an update about an arrest in the case. Can anyone provide me info on this case. Thanks!

I remember seeing this case a couple months ago. The girl and the guy that killed the mother and daughter only drew more suspicion to themselves by staring at the neighbor as she pulled into her driveway. If only all killers were as stupid as that.... then they might be easier to catch.

Yes, that sounds like the murders of Janice Owen and her 8-year-old daughter Alyssa. The murders occured in early 2002. UM aired a segment on the case that summer. By then, arrests had been made. Eric Mize and his wife Angela (who were, at the time, 18 and 25 years old, respectively) pleaded guilty to the murders, and were both sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The guilty pleas spared them from a possible death sentence.

I never forgot that case. It's kind of spooky that some young strangers (or any strangers for that matter) would be seen at the front of the Owen house when the murders were supposedly taking place.
