View Full Version : Days of Our Lives: Perhaps the Most Boring it Has Ever Been!

Okay, I started watching Days back in 1995, when Marlena was possessed. It was awesome. The storyline totally hooked you. Everyday was a cliffhanger. This was totally awesome and this excitement continued up until 1998 when James Reilly left. The storylines declined somewhat, but the show was still "not bad." The Princess Gina storyline of 1999 had it's ups and downs and the Coronation Massacre of 2002 was awesome. The show slumped there after. Celeste became "normal" if you will, which was downright scary. However, when Reilly came back things got shook up for the good and the bad. First the Salem Stalker was interesting mainly because it gave Marlena and Celeste something to do. However, at this point, the storylines have been dragged out so long and have been so boring, that I've almost stopped watching. Some of the characters have been turned into utter crybabys. This is not the Sami that Reilly created back in 1993 and controlled until 1998. Doesn't Reilly remember the confident, "know what she wants, vixen? At least he is in touch with Kate.
The whole teen scene is utter crap and the same old thing over and over. John's addiction was interesting for awhile, but nothing is happening right now, come on, kick it up a notch. The whole castle thing is another "who cares." As for Georgia, is it just me or isn't Georgia, really Chelsea, Abby's friend. Or is that too obvious? I don't know.
Finally, Bonnie NEEDS to GO! Bring back Vivian and Ivan for the comedy ASAP!!!! At least Celeste is back to normal! However, where are the daily cliffhangers?
Finally!!!! I was beginning to think that I am the only person smart enough to figure out the obvious, that Chelsea,Abby's mysterious new friend, who acts just like Billie(even more similarly a younger version), is in fact Georgia, Billie's long lost formerly presumed dead daughter, with Bo.

If you are a true Days fan than you have to realize that ALL soaps go through periods where they slow down or become "boring" as you claim. Just because you don't like the current storylines, that doesn't mean that the rest of us don't. Stop living in the past and pining for characters that are long gone and probably not returning. That just keeps the "newer" characters like Bonnie from growing on you.
Don't get me wrong, I have my own gripes about Days as well, but I take them with a grain of salt because I'm a loyal fan. I have yet to be let down. Just be patient.

I think Days fans have been patient enough, at least this Days fan. The only storyline that keeps this fan keep coming back for more, is the mystery storyline involving Tony DiMera. I want to know what he's up to.
I loved watching him playing poker with Bart and talking the talk with his swauve attitude.

Patient! How long do we have to be patient! Frankly, storyline wise, they're not horrible, but it's the pace. After all, this is February sweeps and still not much is happening storyline wise. So far, the only interesting thing that has happened for sweeps is Kate drugging Sami. Tony playing with the cards was interesting, but nothing is happening!
I am a loyal fan, and probably will watch the show forever. It seems to me that the truest of loyal fans don't take things with a grain of salt, since they always want "their" show to be the best that it can be with the most excitement and the best of characters. But that is up for debate, now isn't it.

Are they even having February sweeps, if so, when is it going to kick in? Yeah, it's at a slow pace, but they better get their butts in gear and kick it up a notch. They also need to bring Roman and Marlena back to Salem. How long have they been locked up anyway? They need to come up with better storylines, especially for the pathetic teens, that's really getting overrated. Now that I think of it, it's not a slow pace, it's more of a slump.

True, I want Days to be the best that it can be. But what I want as far a storylines, etc. is not necessarily what everyone wants. I think what a lot of people are viewing as a slow pace (esp. during Feb sweeps) will just set us up for a big pay-off later. It's only the first week of Feb afterall.

I wondered where to post about this! It's sooooo obvious to me, especially now that Chelsea needed a blood transfusion from the accident and the only rare blood that matched was Billie's. Duh?! She's a cop/ISA agent and she didn't wonder why her rare blood matched that of a girl about her daughter's age?? They sometimes make these characters seem so stupid. Like Shawn, Lucas, Rex and Brady going into a war zone without any military experience. Gimme a break!!! We need more people to come back from the dead, or more people to go missing for a few months to build new love triangles. Something!!!
