First of all, welcome to the board.

Secondly, you are probably the first person to say that you didn't like Kramer.

Thirdly, what episodes have you seen. I'm just curious have you seen many? The reason why I'm asking is because some of the earlier episodes, Kramer didn't do much.

Well then,i can see why you dont like Kramer. My grandparents hated him as well, they always knocked the way he acted, like when he comes through Jerry's apartment door, and almost slips over.
He is goofy, but thats what i like about him.

Welcome as a new seinfan, and welcome to the forum. I think Seinfeld is pretty thick show & should give you plenty to analyze.

what episodes have you seen. I'm just curious have you seen many?TVShow Analyzer, what have you seen?

Welcome to the Seinfeld Board. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. There is alot more to the show than just Kramer, so enjoy. :)

The hell? You are literally the only person I've heard say you don't like Kramer, let alone that he's unwatchable.

I don't like Goofy TV characters. I like relaxed comedy which is characters more like Jerry

It's not a knock, I'm just surprised, since Kramer is literally considered one of the best TV characters of all time and I've never once heard anything negative about him or Michael Richards' portrayal of him.

It's about time you start watching good shows! Haha.

Kramer is a riot though... so you're still nuts in that regard.

I don't think of Kramer as just a goofy character. Michael Richards played him with such texture. There are many layers of subtlety underneath the wacky outer shell. He wasn't a one joke character.

I watch the show in spite of the Kramer character. Evertime he does a 'barge in' to Jerry's apartment I throw my remote at the TV in disgust. The only two true Seinfeld classics are #16 "The Chinese Restaurant" and #20 "The Pen" because Kramer does not appear in either of these episodes.

Seinatra, for someone who doesn't like Kramer, whats with the avatar?

That was sarcasm Pretty. I was just taking S.A.'s thoughts about Kramer being unwatchable to the extreme. I thought my K-Man avatar would make it clear I was joking. Seinfeld without Kramer would be like macaroni without the cheese.

Without Kramer there would be no "Bladder System", no "Bro", no "Coffee Table book about coffee tables", no "Fussilli Jerry", no "Dresser drawer beds"....etc, etc...

who is S.A?-LOLIts just screen jargon for Show Analyzer, AKA TVShow Analyzer

TVShow Analyzer, for reals, can you give us a brief outline of what you've seen episode wise, just to give us an idea?

The Kramer character developed and had quite an transformation though the seasons, going from a never-leave-the-apartment-robe-wearing-mooching-creep-next-door to the worldly-vintage cabana clothed-mysterious-hipster-dufus that Michael Richards made famous.

Although his fans appreciate his delivery of many classic seinfeldian lines, and his creation of the Kramer verbal inflections, the real flair of the character to the show was he brought the element of the physical comedy in a classic sense. He did some [physically] difficult stuff with more smooth & subtlety than given credit for, its just that what he was doing was so outlandish & over the top. The dude was actually slick at being zanny, and eventually created a pretty complex character.

Richards as Kramer has many scenes [some which he may even be alone], that he has no lines, and he hilariously nails them. A lot of his sounds and stammers & motions were whipped up by Richards as he went along.
Richards did a great job of playing an over the top character.

Kramer was the reason I started watching Seinfeld...
Even watching the reruns I laugh watching Kramer,
I love the episode when he put Frank Costanzos screen
door up,,,,that is sooooooooo hilarious when he's yelling
at the kids for playing ball in front of his house...Then
when he snaps and destroys the computer he's holding
for George........
