Anybody seen it yet? Is it any good? I have heard both sides. Good and bad. Opinions please?!

Yes, I've seen it. It's not M. Night's best movie, but I thought it was good, and interesting nonetheless. It's worth a rental, if you can appreciate his kind of movie, that is.

Marlene, I hated it. It's by M. Night Shyamalan who also directed The Sixth Sense and Signs, so I was expecting it to be great. It was just a lot of talking, talking, talking. We watched it on video last week, and I gave up halfway through.

The movie was confusing. I didn't understand the plot nor the setting. If you're going to watch it, you might want to watch it a second time...just to understand it.

Nothing new for me I had to watch The Sixth Sense twice before I realized what a good movie it was! But with actors William Hurt and Signourney Weaver I have high hopes! I want to see it! :D

Thanks Janice! You have ruined it for me!

Kidding! ;) I will let you know what I think after watching it! :)

The acting IS pretty good. Bryce Howard (Is that her name?) got a lot of rave reviews from critics in her breakout role in this movie.

Sadly, M. Night Shyamalan's films (in my opinion, anyway) get progressively worse. It could just be that The Sixth Sense was so good, everything else he does automatically creates unreasonable expectations among the viewing public. The Village is not a bad film but the political overtones are as subtle as a ton of bricks. I suspect it is far better liked by liberals than by conservatives.

I'm sure I'll watch it again since I find all of his films visually interesting, but I will probably watch it with the sound off.

I hated this movie. The "twist" was very disappointing. I went and saw it when it first came out and it's the only time I've ever wanted my money back at the movie theater. It sucked.

I rented it over the weekend and I thought the whole plot was stupid. I'm not going to tell you the ending but it's like you knew what was going to happen, very predictable. I didn't think it was confusing, I understood it, but it wasn't the greatest movie. I hope that helps

 You have to see it yourself. Everyone's taste is different. I've loved movies that bombed at the box office and hated movies that were critically acclaimed.
Let us know your verdict.

Well, my daughter said it was very good. But we don't see eye to eye on some movies! I will let you know. I bought the movie online and I haven't received it yet.

Dang Janice, you and I usually have a similar taste in movies. I want to see this flick, if you hate it, I probably will as well. We'll see.

Brian, until you start seeing some Merchant Ivory period pieces, there will always be a gap in movie tastes with us.

You may like The Village. I just found it too slow and dialog heavy with no action.

Well, I just finished watching it! If I had not been expecting more out of it I would rate it an interesting movie but I was VERY disappointed! :( I was hoping it to be more supernatural and scary! I rate it 1 star* :thumbsdow Don't Bother! What a letdown!

Sorry to hear that. The movie, 'The Forgotten' with Julianne Moore is good and has that 'Sixth Sense' sort of feeling to it. I think you might like it.

Another good one is 'Cellular' with Kim Basinger.

It's a decent movie, but Shymalan could have done much better. I actually thought the twist was the high point, in addition to Bryce Dallas Howard's performance.
