Since my wife is a fan of All My Children, I too watch the taped episodes at night with her. Kelly Ripa did a fine job as Hayley on the show. I recently watched an episode of Hope & Faith and I've never seen a worse case of overacting in my life. She comes across as someone who has never acted before & is "trying" to play the part of a dumb blonde. Her performance is not natural at all like a good actor should come across. I don't understand why this is so since she did such a good acting job on AMC. Maybe she just isn't meant to be a comedic actress.

That's the way Kelly's character is supposed to be ;) She's a "drama queen" so to speak, over the top ;)
Kelly actually has great comedic timing :)

It's the character, Faith is meant to be over-the-top and wild. i think that Ripa has good comic timing and impulse, and maybe once in a while she'll take it too far...
Yeah it's the character. If she did an awesome job of acting it wouldn't fit in with the script at all!
