If I walked three miles I think that I would pass out.
 I usually have NO problem walking two miles around the track just as long as I have some music to listen to. There were a couple of times I walked 2.5 miles, but that evening I was pumped and in a mood where I didn't wanna stop walking and just kept going. Boy, did I pay the price - the soles of my feet were burning. I soaked them for a while, but my soles still kicked my butt while I was working out in my aerobics class yesterday morning. I am going to take it easy and let them rest for a couple of days. I think I am going to stay away from walking ALL three miles at once again until I get my body used to it.

My "Facts of Life" season 1 and 2 DVD set came in!!! It was actually inside my mailbox since yesterday evening, but I didn't get a chance to check it until today. I happened to look at the tracking options which told me it had already arrived. And there it was! I am playing episode one right now! :D

Almost four weeks ago, I had a complete physical. I'm cancer phobic, and I've been on the edge of my seat waiting for test results. I also haven't gone in a couple of years.

Yesterday, I got a letter from my doctor's office. All the boxes were checked "Normal". Blood work, urine, pap test, colorectal, blood pressure, mammogram, cholesterol...everything is perfect.

Seeing all those boxes checked "Normal" as opposed to "Abnormal" just made my day.

I'm glad to hear it, Janice. :)
Thanks Mike. :) My doctor, whom I've had for 12 years, knows me so well. On the bottom of the form letter (where the boxes are checked normal or abnormal next to the test taken), she handwrote, "Janice, your test results show no evidence of cancer. See you in a year."

I lost both parents to cancer....that explains why I'm cancer phobic.

I've lost quite a few family members to cancer as well. I'm not too concerned about getting cancer at this point, but I am sure as I get a little older it will be more of a concern.

At the grocery I got, with my change, both state quarters (Nevada and Nebraska) that have been issued so far in 2006! :woohoo: I did see a Nevada quarter last week at work, but still, it's good to have one I can have for keeps that's more recent than West Virginia!

More good news on the health front. My husband had cataract surgery on Friday, and he's healing nicely.

The good part is that the doctor put corrective lens in his eyes, so he doesn't need contacts or glasses anymore. He was born with bad eyesight.

The best part is that insurance doesn't cover surgery for correcting vision as it's considered cosmetic surgery. People pay four and five thousand dollars for this surgery. However, since my husband had cataracts, insurance paid for the entire operation. :woohoo:

I'm feeling quite good about myself today...I forced myself to walk a mile and a half at the track, despite the fierce wind and urge to lounge around by my computer. Bringing the iPod really helped me along too :D

After walking, I went to the grocery store and fixed myself a salad at their salad bar and bought some peach flavored Propel water...it feels good to be doing something healthy with my body and coaxing myself out of this depressive slump.

Hopefully I will be doing the same on Wednesday :)

I know exactly how you feel with that "good" feeling. I have been either a) walking around my apartment complex for about 30 minutes or b) walking two miles around a local high school track (only about 2-3 blocks from where I live). And it feels GOOD. I've been doing that for the last 3-4 weeks. I agree that talking along some music DOES pump you up and just makes time smooth by a lot better. It's a lot more entertaining, too.

Keep up the motivation of walking with music! Seriously... it's the ONLY way of feeling pumped to get yourself to get into this habit. Before long, you will feel healthier. :)

I have been depressed during these weeks as well, so I don't see much change in my feelings with just walking. The only thing I know is that I am keeping my body healthy, even if my mind is still roaming in endless circles.

I just weighed myself about 30 minutes ago (ugh....I really do hate doing this) which I haven't done in about 1-1.5 months. I found out I lost five pounds!!! Wow!!! :D It's amazing!! Considering I nap a lot and eat out a lot (not always fast food but still...), I guess it has helped to walk almost everyday plus taking my step aerobics class. Well, no complaints there. I'm happy! :D

There are no afternoon classes at work at my college today, so my co-worker and I are taking personal leave to have the rest of the afternoon off. Woohoo!

I am invited to a friend's BBQ/pool party later this evening , but I am going there in about an hour so I can help her get ready for it. Poor thing - she is stressing out sooooo much because she had to attend a baby shower and is running out of time. Always glad to help! :D

I've never been to this particular restaurant, but I knew it was on the SAME street as another address. While I waited for my food to be ready, I thought about nosying around and driving past this particular address. I know. I am soooooo terrible for doing this, but well, we only live once, right?

I did! I found it! I took in as much of the memory my eyes were able to see. *swoons* Ooooooooooo.......... I just feel sooooooooooooo devious and like a little sneak. Hahahahaha.... *muahahahahaha*

I got a cycling computer for my bike yesterday -- it's a 17-function cycle computer. It's one of the neatest things I've ever brought. :D It tells me the following things:

- Total distance travelled
- Max speed
- Average speed
- Total time
- Calories burned
- Fat calories burned
- Temperature (probably the coolest part ever)
- Current time

and it even lets me enter my age and weight...It also reminds me when to do regular maintanence on my bike.

I'm going biking this afternoon, so I can't wait to see how far it says I've travelled. :D

I also may go to the pool today - it's pretty darn nice outside today.

Courney, oh my goodness, Im so sorry...I was going to ask why you are heartbroken, but I guess its because of that...but you know you are an incredibly talented person, Ive seen your posts, and you are so kind...that is more important an indicator of character then any boyfriend! :) I always say, if you are no longer together, it was not meant to be, and he did not deserve you...if they would do that to you, you know you dont want to be with them either...not worth your worthwhile time, eh? :)
I think you are great, for what its worth! :) Shnazzy too, up there... ;)

I feel somewhat refreshed after my nap today!

I was soooooooooo exhausted this morning when I got to work that I nearly fell asleep and had trouble keeping my eyes open and my keep my head up. I had some lunch and found out I am the only one available to cover a co-worker to close the computer labs tonight becuase she was majorily nauseated from her year-round allergies. They tend to kick her butt really badly every couple of months. She didn't end up coming to work today. I then told my co-workers I will work around my schedule so I can go home and take a nap before I come back and am the only one "on the floor" to cover that shift. My three other co-workers all have class tonight, so I was the only one available.

I just came back to work from my 2.5-hour break and I feel somewhat refreshed from that 1.5 to 2 hour nap. I'm glad I did that. It was a killer for me to stay at work ALL day long and endure NOT going home and taking a catnap. I live about 15-20 minutes away, so it wasn't that bad of a commute. I took the freeway to and from.

how do you make screencaps?? I've tried with window media player but it didn't work =\
Okay, they're different things. Luckily, I know how to screencap with WMP.

- Minimize all your windows, so that you are looking at your desktop.
- Right-click anywhere on the desktop and click on Properties.
- Go to the Settings tab.
- There is a button in that tab, Advanced. Click on that button.
- Now, click on the Troubleshoot tab.
- You will see a line that says Hardware acceleration with a tab thing next to it. Drag the tab all the way to the left, so that it is sitting RIGHT next to the word None.
- Apply the changes.
- Open WMP and your graphics editing program, and have fun!
- DON'T FORGET TO REVERT BACK TO FULL HARDWARE ACCELERATION ONCE YOU ARE DONE!

In my case, I can now play DVDs on my computer (I couldn't before) and I can take screencaps with PowerDVD 6.

Hehe.... Funny evening!!!

I walked almost two-and-a-half miles around a nearby high school track under an upcoming blob of dark, rainy clouds just before the sun set. It was also lightening as the storm was slowy coming our way. Almost halfway into my last lap, the rain poured like crazy. I, along with everyone else who was walking there, ran across the track to get to the other side to get into our vehicles. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!! That rain was nice!!!! :D I love when it's raining, thundering, and lightening!!! Good. We also NEED a lot of rain so it's not sooooooooo dry!!!

I love when it rains because it's comforting for me. For some odd reason, I love just thinking and daydreaming about the tough and weird moments in my life and just looking into them with positive outlooks for them. It's a weird habit of mine, but it just makes me think....

I can still hear the rain outside, and it's still lightening and thundering. I want to answer some PMs and surf around the threads, so I hope the electricity doesn't go out tonight. If not, I will have to wait until tomorrow...

YAYYYYYYY a word of encouragement from my stepmom whom i'm allowing to read my myspace blog. she responded to a long ass rant about my dad. lol now i less feel the need to make disclaimers left and right ("wahhh i know most teenagers exaggerate or lie about their parents and 'hate' them over ****ty things but i don't and my case is more serious than that") whenever i rant about him.

I've witnessed at least one unprovoked abusive attack on you by your father and its intensity scared me. Hang in there and remember, he's the one with the mental problem. Take care.

P.S. Look up the word empathy. It's something normal well-adjusted people have, and then go look at his empty eyes.

St. Mary's Catholic Church

If Your Child is a Gothic, Reform Through the Lord!

Listed below are some warning signs to indicate if your
child may have gone astray from the Lord.

Gothic (or goth) is a very obscure and often dangerous culture that young teenagers are prone to participating in. The gothic culture leads young, susceptible minds into an imagined world of evil, darkness, and violence. Please seek immediate attention through counselling, prayer, and parental guidance to rid your child of Satan's temptations if five or more of the following are applicable to your child:

- Frequently wears black clothing.

- Wears band and/or rock t-shirts.

- Wears excessive black eye makeup, lipstick or nailpolish.

- Wears any odd, silver jewelry or symbols. Some of these include:
reversed crosses, pentagrams, pentacles, ankhs or various other
Satanic worshipping symbols.

- Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos.

- Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of
music. (Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)

- Associates with other people that dress, act or speak
eccentrically.

- Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such
as: the Bible, prayer, church or sports.

- Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic,
the occult, witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.

- Takes drugs.

- Drinks alcohol.

- Is suicidal and/or depressed.

- Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation. (This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God and His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local mental health center.)

- Complains of boredom.

- Sleeps too excessively or too little.

- Is excessively awake during the night.

- Dislikes sunlight or any other form of light. (This pertains to
vampires promoting the idea that His light is of no use.)

- Demands an unusual amount of privacy.

- Spends large amounts of time alone.

- Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your child may speak to evil sprits through meditation.)

- Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an adult.

- Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and
elders are but a few examples of this.

- Misbehaves at school.

- Misbehaves at home.

- Eats excessively or too little.

- Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of this.

- Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood.
(Vampires believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and should be stopped immediately.)

- Watches cable television or any other corrupted media
sources. (Ask your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.)

- Plays videos games that contains violence or role-playing nature.

- Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the computer.

- Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music.

- Dances to music in a provocative or sexual manner.

- Expresses an interest in sex.

- Masturbates

- Is homosexual and/or bisexual.

- Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism, Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism.

- Wears pins, stickers or anything else that contains these various phrases: "I'm so gothic, I'm dead", "woe is me", "I'm a goth".

- Claims to be a goth.

If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your local mental health center.

That's why I take all the extra precautions when I fly. I keep an ID tag on the handle (obviously) AND put one or two more ID tags in the front compartment(s) of my suitcase. You NEVER know what happens with your luggage when you fly, and what if the tag on your suitcase handle falls off? Personnel will check available compartments to see if they can find additional ID.

I am so glad to hear your stuff was located. Yay! :cheer:

Hey Coutrnee

That sounds tough, I am sorry your friends are letting you down right now. I really do hope they come around. I promise I'll never get tired of you!!
You have nothing to be ashamed of either, if your friend is upset with you for being honest in your blog, that's not youre fault. You need to write, especially at this time in your life, and your blogs are a way of getting your feelings out and dealing with them. Don't worry about that at all. Keep being the great girl you are, Courtnee. Stay strong.

okay, so me and my man live 40 miles apart from each other and i hadn't seen him in over a month, so i got really depressed and started walking the 40 miles where he lived and i made it about 8 miles out of town when someone offered me a ride some of the way, so i had to walk a little more until i finally reached his house and we spent 3 glorious nights together :biglove: and he has this orange hawian like shirt that his brother gave him and i always wanted it but he never would give it to me, so on the day when it was time for me to go home and he saw how sad i was, he surprised me with my favorite orange shirt and said i could have it. yay, i cannot wait to be with him again.
