Rotated my mattress, washed my bedsheets, the mattress pad AND my pillows, plus I switched out blankets so I have a different one now on my bed. I love washing my bedsheets and whatnot - the first night sleeping with freshly-washed sheets and pillows is the BEST. :biglove: The littlest things make me really happy. :D

I JUST came back from a three-round walk around my apartment complex. Soooo beautiful - sun isn't all the way up yet, it's cool/brisk, birds chirping, people getting into their cars to drive to work.... ahhh.... very serene. Almost like Ace of Base's "Beautiful Life" lyrics - "take a walk in the park..." I walked around the buildings, the pool area, the grass area, the volleyball area, etc. It was definitely peaceful! I'd like this to become a daily routine BEFORE it gets too cold. :)

I applied for a job. I don't have it yet, but there's a pretty good chance of me getting it. :D It would be at a national health insurance company, and they are VERY wonderful to the younger people (aka college students) working for them. I would be getting all the bells and whistles if I went to work for them...Health AND dental coverage, paid time off, paid training AND tuition reimbursement (!!!!) are just some of the things they offer. I filled out an online interview application...they called me yesterday, I called them and they wanted to do a phone interview with me but unfortunately the only time they had available was at a bad time for me during the day (I would be in school :(), so the main office will call me...Or I can call them back on Monday to schedule a time for a walk-in interview.

OMG, I sooooo hope I get the job! It's a full-time position but they have a job-sharing program, and I can split the hours with somebody else. The full-time salary is pretty decent...I would still be getting decent pay if I only have half that salary. *crosses fingers*

I am having a personal dilemna that has been bothering me sooooo much lately. I confided by getting it out to a friend of mine via instant messenger this morning. And his just listening/giving advice/suggestions really has helped me out a lot. I really enjoyed our chat today, and I feel sooooo much better. Wow!! We techs had a nice surprise today at work!! I want to share this bit of cute and happy news with all of you!

I arrived at work by about 4:00 p.m., and my boss and co-workers have these cards taped up to our white board. They handed me one with my name marked in an envelope and tell me to open it. They have this surprise look on their faces and wait for me to open mine.

It's a "Thank You" card that has 23 of our fulltime instructors' signatures and little personalized notes of gratitude for me. Some of these instructors got personal and thanked "me" for stuff I have done for them over the years. Each of us had personalized cards. They are all VERY thankful for the work we techs have provided and supported them with.

Another little surprise for each of us - they ALL pitched in money and got us EACH gift certificates for $30 USD to eat at Il Viccino (an Italian restaurant/pizzeria)!! This is for SIX of us!! I mean, 6 times 30 is ----> $180 USD among the 23 of them! Wow!!! This was something none of us expected!! What a surprise and a little treat!!! They also got together and decorated this tin can adding money in it and entitled it as "BIT Lab Techs' Burrito Fund." This is because we usually go out and make "burrito runs" for breakfast! Too cute!!

Can you imagine how it was THESE instructors who got together and did this for us out of gratitude, and it was NOT involved with any of our deans!!! Whoa!!! They are just TOO sweet. They are just candy apple sweet!!! Awww... they are just TOO cute that I could give them all a GROUP hug!! http://3.forumer.com/html/emoticons/aob/663.gif

Wow!!!! Another instructor gave three of us techs who have helped subbed her classes during her six-week absence (because of a broken ankle) a $25 Sears gift certificate each!!! Wow, oh, wow!! :eek: Cool!! My first inclination was to look through the electronics!! I love technology toys!! Hehe!! I wanted to get another hard drive since I am collecting soooo many MP3s, and I want an iPod, but neither of these are sold at Sears. Darnit! Oh, well.... I'll keep trying...

I have been eyeing Sears' website, and I think I am going to get a Sylvania DVD/VHS VCR combo. My current DVD player is a cheap-o and the DVD won't play/budge the door open! I get $25 as a discount from the gift certificate, so it's all cool. :D

I'm heading over to Sears tomorrow after work/class (it's a short day for me) to scope it out in person other than the website. I can't wait!!

Gonna see Ace of Base perform LIVE for four nights (European time zone) on the 27th, 28th, 29th and 31st of October in Antwerp, Belgium for "Night of the Proms" http://www.notp.com/ ! There's a GOOD chance to possibly meet them in person on the 29th as there are already plans for that!! Woohoo!!! Wow, oh wow!!! :eek:

There will also be other artists performing like Donna Summer and Safri Duo - good music those nights!!!

My plane reservations AND concert tickets have already been set!! I leave on the 26th and arrive back home on the 1st of November late at night MDT.

I'm soooo excited! I'm also going to be seeing my online friends AGAIN in person. We seem to see one another only once a year during gatherings. My dreams come true! :yippee:

I was sooooo elated earlier today during my work lunch hour. I decided to eat at a restaurant, and I looked up to see this HOT guy walking over to the food pick-up area and looked my way and smiled. I smiled back but sorta turned away. I was in shock!! A HOT guy actually smiled AT me?! Wow!!! That moment when he smiled at me, I felt a surge of warmth travel throughout my body! Okay, so I splurged a little today. It's a mini splurge, but what the hey!

I was at Wal-Mart picking up some things I needed for a potluck at work tomorrow, and I find these cute silver/white strapless sandals where the heels light up when walked on them. They were $3. I also found this cute teal corduroy skirt also for $3. :D

I am so glad. I remember the surgery myself. It was the worst pain I had ever experienced in my life. Three months of hell!!!! Child birth, C-section, nothing compared to the surgical pain and the healing. Just breathing I was wanting to die. I am so glad I had my adult daughter and my teen daughter helping me. My boyfriend was so great. It is great knowing that he will be on the mend to getting better and hopefully his surgery is a total success. BTW, I had my surgery ANTERIOR (thru the front) not the back. You and him will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers. Take care.:wave:

I learned how to knit today! I've always wanted to take up knitting. :D It's a lot of fun to be able to make things for myself and for other people. :cool: I picked up on the techniques pretty quickly and now I'm just practicing the stitches. It truly is fun and a great way to pass the time. :)

I feel good because I felt like a caring friend by offering a temporary home and a Thanksgiving togetherness in my apartment to a co-worker friend. Her kitchen caught on fire earlier around 7:30 a.m.! The apartment is soaked (from the fire sprinklers' sprays), and half of the kitchen is gone. Apparently, there was something that sparked inside the connected toaster (was not on but was plugged into the socket). She thanked me and told me it was "okay" because the apartment complex will offer a two-bedroom apartment (hers was a three-bedroom) and wanted to stay busy in preparing a Thanksgiving meal in two days. She was touched. Even if she did not accept, I still feel good about the offering. She is a great friend to me, and I offered ANY type of assistance she might need. She is like a big sister to me. She says I am like a little sister to her. :)

Man, send some of the snow up here...I could use it. Hell, the kids could use it. I don't remember the last time we got more than 6" of snow at once. When I was growing up, we used to get 8' of snow for the winter and if we had a really big storm, we would have up to 12' snow drifts. THAT was awesome. Nowadays, we're lucky if a storm comes in and COVERS the lawn. It just gets reallllllllly cold (-11 degrees last time I checked). :mad:

Oh my gosh!!!! I cannot believe that I actually FINALLY successfully burned a DVD of my approaching Ace of Base in Antwerp!!!! Woohoo!!! This time it burned with NO errors!!! I already lost about 4 DVDs because something went wrong during the burning process, so I'm glad it finally worked by converting the AVI file into MPEG!!! Thank goodness!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yay!! Now I can show my family my video!!! NICE!!!! :woohoo:

Martina, along with Carrie Underwood and LeAnn Rimes were here last Thursday doing a concert to raise money for Hurricane Katrina Victims, and let's just say I paid...quite a bit to get priority seating and a pre-party with the artists. I was not even guaranteed a chance to meet them, but I ended up getting lucky. All 3 of them were doing very short meet & greets (I think Martina left after 15 minutes). I could have tried to meet Carrie or LeAnn, but I opted for Martina. I was probably the 10th person in her line. It went pretty fast, but she was still extremely nice. I somehow managed to tell her she was the greatest female vocalist who ever lived...and she said, "Well, thank you!" I also got a picture and autograph.

We had our annual Christmas party at work today. I loved the food and the atmosphere. And the gift grab game topped it off. It was so much fun!! I ended up being one of the last numbers, so I scoped out everyone's gift to see which I'd like to "steal." I ended up taking Judi's electric beverage warmer. It also had two hot chocolate packets and a glass cup. :D

Oh yeah... and I have 17 days of PAID vacation! We don't get back to work until January 2nd!!! Finally some rest from ALL that overtime for 15 weeks during the semester!! Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

My cousin who had the stroke a couple of months ago got to come home for Christmas. She's doing really well. She's still got some paralysis in her left side but she's getting therapy for that.

Her parents brought her to our house the other day and she was like her old self :woohoo: :D

The concert I attended in Antwerp, Belgium, "Night of the Proms," aired a two part special in Europe, and I am shown various times in the audience. I was one of the Acers at the very front, and I picked myself out of the audience. It paid off to wear a bright orange blouse and don a white headband on the SAME day they decided to record the concert to be shown on TV!!! :cool:

I also downloaded those .mpeg videos and burned them on DVD. I'm watching the concert right now! Awwww... takes me back to the end of October 2005. "Ahhhh...memories take me away."

my boyfriend came home from vacation last nighttttttt.
and it was probably the best thing ever. i'm in love with that boy, for real.
and today was awesome. school isn't sucking so bad at all anymore. and brandon is amazing. i'm so happy all the time now. i love it! and i'm not sick anymore!
plus! my speech coach let me and my partner switch pieces! now we won't suck!

I've had the best week ever so far (well, except for one of my friends telling me she's getting married....that part wasn't so good). Ever since Saturday, it's like something has washed over me. I had been really stressed out about something (which really turned out to be nothing more than my overactive imagination/untrusting conscience), but I talked it over with my boyfriend and he just made it better. We kind of had a fight when we were talking about it, but when it was over it was like I could feel that he loved me so much. And I guess now that I know we can fight and then come back together and be even stronger, it just makes me love him that much more. I don't know what I'd do without him.
