So I'm watching the Today Show, and Matt Lauer is in Amsterdam. And we's wearing extremely dark sunglasses. If you stop and think about that, and you know why Amsterdam's noteworthy....
...a good laugh like that's what I needed to start my day.

I had an awesome time at the concert. It was a little awkward being with him but we did like we always do and just acted like nothing's wrong. I almost starting crying in the car when 'look after you' by the fray played because it makes me think of him, but I'm not that stupid to cry in front of him and everyone else. Overall, fun time. On another note; I just got the Leg Magic from Bed Bath & Beyond two weeks ago *using a 50% coupon* and have to say...I LOVE it! It looks so easy on TV but its not! I consider myself pretty physically fit and yet I found myself clinging to the bar barely able to move my legs  I'm a LOT better with it now ;)
Now I need to go back and buy some towels! The towels seem to disappear in this house

Bed, Bath & Beyond will let you use their expired coupons. :) If you have one of theirs and it has expired they still take it. At least they do here anyway. I don't know of any other store other than BBB that does that. They also let you use as many BBB coupons as you have. My mother goes in there with 3 or 4 and it's like Christmas to her, j/k. :)
 My mom does the same thing! She saves them in her purse until she's got a nice collection going on and then walks into BBB like some Queen of the coupons. Not me! Once I get one I want to use it right away!

The other day I saw the most perfect rainbow I had ever seen in my entire life. The full, complete arch and another, fainter one right above it. I work at Target, and I've been seeing that we get copies of Wii Fit at least 2x or 3x a week (approximately). I worked Sunday... 4 copies were stocked. When I came in to work last night, they were all gone. But when I got off this morning, more had been stocked... so I grabbed one after work. $85 with my discount, so not too bad (it would've been about $96 after taxes). :)
I reallllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyy love the hula hoop game on it. :D
And for some reason when I did the Body Test, it told me I'd lost 11 lbs today (I did the body test 2x). But when I went to check on my real bathroom scale, I still weighed the same. I got it because I really don't want to shell out for a membership or exercise DVDs that I know I will never remember to keep up with. So it was worth the money for me. :)

went to the eye doctor today. my contact prescription hasn't changed much in the past year. but i've got a really strong prescription (-6.50). i talked to him about lasik & he said it would be a really good idea for me. the whole procedure takes less than a minute per eye & i'll be fully healed within two or three days. eep! i'm thinking of doing it in two weeks so i have time before school starts. it'll be sooo nice not to have to worry about contacts for the next 25 yrs.

Well as you know, I can't drive because of the epilepsy. So when my sister went to nursing school, it was perfect for me to go to that same school as well. Well since she dropped out, I didn't have a ride. So this last year, my mom's been a teacher at a Business college and they have what I want as well, so I thought go for it! And (didnt even know this when I signed up) my tuition is free!:)

On the way up to Lexington today, I found a group of gas stations in a specific part of a town I pass through selling regular unleaded for $3.59!
This is in the Feel Good thread as lowering gas prices IS what makes me feel good.

Gas prices here are still higher than yours, Seth. :( But they've dropped, too... prices for all types of gas (except diesel, which was at 4.59 for a long time) was 3.99. It's gone down to 3.84 now. Again, for all types of gas. :)
My feel-good feeling... I found a scanner, new in box, at the thrift store today for $3. :D Haven't tested it out yet... hopefully it works. But even if it doesn't, it was still only $3.
Also, I found a Carol Burnett book that I've been looking for FOREVER - One More Time, circa 1986. I love that book! It's practically new, too.

A few of you guys were wondering about the neck issues I was having (see posts about 2-3 pages back over in the complaint dept thread).
Well, they seem to be improving. I had a massage appointment on Monday that didn't help - in fact, it seemed to make the pain worse. My mom had to schedule a chiropractor appointment for me (and her) yesterday -- she originally scheduled one for both of us on Friday, but I told her I would NOT be able to make it to Friday with the tremendous amount of pain that I was in. The chiropractor really did wonders for me, I think. I'm not in so damn much pain now. I still have pain, but now it is SO much more manageable. They were so bad before that I was having to take tramadol (prescription painkiller) just to take the edge off, and in turn the tramadol ****ed with me BIG time. It took the pain away for a while, but it also ****ed with my balance, made me woozy and also COMPLETELY killed my appetite. Like... I'm not even kidding. The only thing I could stand to eat the past few days was sunflower seeds.
I didn't take any tramadol at all yesterday (when I had my appt) but it was still in my system, so I was still feeling icky from it. It seems to be out of my system now, and I feel better. Been taking ibuprofen now as needed, and doing the neck exercises that the chiropractor & masseue told me to do (they both told me to do the same type of exercise). I still have issues turning my head to the right right now, but oh my god. So much better. That was three days of AGONIZING pain... oh my god. I was starting to forget what it was like to have a normal-functioning neck.
The chiropractor told me yesterday that if I was still in serious pain, he would see about squeezing me in tomorrow. I think I'm good to go now, though... so yay!
The damn neck issues made me seriously not want to do anything the entire time... so I just did a lot of stuff for the first time since the weekend and damn I feel good now. Shower... I have my appetite back now... things like that.

Andrea, thank you, for your kind words. Yes, it was very hard in the beginning; but, I knew that, sooner than later, that smoking was going to effect my health. Also, it is such a disgusting habit, as, well as expensive; but, I am very proud of myself for quitting. It is funny, but, I do not know anyone that smokes anymore; all of my friends quit, and my family does not smoke..

Her new album is due out in October, isn't it? I hope that she hits the road as soon as it comes out. :D She played many of her best known songs, a couple from Waking UP Laughing (sadly, she didn't peform "How I Feel" :( ) and a few cover songs. Midway through the show she did covers of "Lean On Me" and "Summer of '69" by Brayn Adams. She really rocked out on "Summer of '69". Even though Martina was all of three years old during the summer of 1969, so I'm not sure how "those were the best day of (her) life". She closed the show with covers of Journey's "Dont Stop Believing" and "Hit Me With Your Best Shot". The highlight of the show was "Where Would You Be". She really hit that one out of the ballpark. I actually had goosebumps when she was singing it. The audiance gave her a much deserved standing ovation after that song. :D

I think her album might have been delayed a bit, but she didn't say when exactly. I'm sure she will do another tour soon after it's released. Yeah, I think she only did How I Feel at the first show, which was here in Detroit. While I like it, I personally would have rather she sang If I Had Your Name, which it seems like she is doing at all the other shows. Yeah, WWYB along with A Broken Wing are two of my favorite songs to hear live. After hearing her do Summer of 69, I looked up the history of the song, and Bryan Adams said it actually isn't about the year 1969 at all, but something more...adult. I'm almost positive Martina has no clue about the "real" meaning of the song!

"How I Feel" is my second favorite song off of Waking Up Laughing, so I really wish she had performed it. She did sing "If I Had Your Name", which is a really good song, but not as good in my opinion as "How I Feel". "How I Feel" is a really good, uplifting, feel good song.

Haha, I thought everyone knew about the true meaning of that song.
 In looking it up I found out that it's quite debated, and several people refuse to believe that's the real meaning.

I do enjoy How I Feel, but it's not a top favorite of mine from that album and I had heard it live before, so I was hoping for something new. It was a nice surprise to hear Whatever You Say, did she do that one at your show or was Valentine in its place?

She did "Valentine" here. I thougth it was one of the highligts of the show. She sang it with pretty much only the piano backing her up. More or less the way it is on the CD. I thought it was a nice moment in the show. "Valentine" is such a simple love song, I think it's a song that is hard to pull off in an big arena, but she did it. :)

I'm not up to speed on Martina's music, and lots of other artists as well. She certainly is a looker. What is her biggest hit, one that I would recognize?

Wild Angels and A Broken Wing were her biggest hits, though probably her
most well known song now is Independence Day due to its becoming an
anthem for victims of domestic abuse and Sean Hannity using it as the theme
music for his radio program.

As Lee said, "Wild Angels" and "A Broken Wing" are two of her most popular songs. I think her biggest hit however was "Valentine", with Jim Brickman playing piano. That is a song that became a big crossover hit and was played on radio stations that don't normally play country music. As Lee also mentioned, Martina's signature song is called "Independence Day". My favortie Martina songs are "Anyway", "Where Would You Be", "How I Feel", "Whatever You Say", "Loves the Only House" and "Concrete Angel". A really good introduction to Martina's music would be her 2002 Greatest Hits album. :)
And yeah, Martina is certainly easy on the eyes. :D

My husband's had a stomach ache for about 10 days now. He was planning on seeing his doctor this Tuesday. It got so bad this weekend, that he was doubled over in pain, so off the the ER we went tonight. We lucked out, and they took him right away.
It was as he suspected, a drug interaction. An EKG and a few x-rays later, he was sent on his merry way with a prescription to settle down his stomach, and it did. I was scared. On Christmas Eve morning, 1999, I took my father in with a stomach ache, and they kept him. He had colon cancer, so it was emergency surgery, chemo for months. Given that nightmare, I was elated tonight. On the way home, we stopped at CVS to get his medicine, and I was wearing a witch's hat and singing to the tunes. The pharmacist was laughing. I thought he'd call security.

 Not only that, but when I'm really relieved about something, I get really hungry, probably because I don't eat when I'm nervous. So, I bought all sorts of goodies, and even cracked a few open while waiting for the prescription. My husband laughed and told the pharmacist that we just came from the ER and got good news, and that she's on Cloud 9 now, lol.

That's funny about wearing the hat and singing. Reminds me of when I graduated high school (May 28, 1998). That evening we went out to eat afterwards. We went to Bennigan's. I think that was the restaurant. Anyway, at one point three of us got up to go to the restroom. We locked arms and started singing and skipping (Wizard Of Oz) to the bathroom. Three woman skipping and signing "We're off to see the wizard...". It's funny now. I would have been mortified to have been seen like that by anyone else. It was spontenous. What possessed us to do that I have no idea.
It sounds like you went a little off your rocker, Jenny. ;)
