I know, lol. It's a big step for me. I figure that I'll use the Hollywood sign as my primary avatar, and put up others here and there.

Leave it to you Allison, to remember the exact year, you and that keen memory. I know I had one with The Sopranos and Red Sox, but I think that's it. I wonder how long I had the animated Hollywood Sign for? Seems like about three years to me.

I wanna say it was around October or November of 2004 when you put up the purple Hollywood avatar. So, you had that one longer than you had your original Hollywood avatar.

I remember one time, I told you that your avatar looked exactly like the picture on my purse (I have a purse with a picture of the Hollywood sign on the front), lol.

Oh wait, it was December of 2004, and I mentioned my purse on the 2nd page of this thread:

http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/showthread.php?t=127566

Oh, and here's a picture of the aforementioned purse in question. I brought it in May of 2003.

Annnnnnnnnd here's a picture of a 17-year-old me rocking out with that very purse the night I met Vicki Lawrence, back in May of 2003. :D

If there's one thing I've always been historically bad at, it's describing myself. Today, I came up with at least a description of my sense of humor.:

My ability at humor varies day to day. Some days I'm The Office. Smart, witty, intelligent. Other days, I'm America's Funniest Home Videos. Doesn't make a lot of sense, isn't actually that funny, and is pretty much just the sensation of getting hit in the nuts for 30 minutes.

Got ya beat.

Our yearbooks would arrive in September of the NEXT school year. I was a HS freshman the 1999-2000 school year, and so I didn't get mine until October of 2000. The other years after that, they came in September. LAME.

The fall after I graduated from HS, I moved away. My senior yearbook didn't come in until the week before I moved away - so I was able to stop in to pick it up. But geez. STUPID.

My freshman - junior yearbooks were very well-done, but my senior yearbook was AWFUL. Seriously, I wanted to cry.

One of mine...junior year? Anyway, they purposely put all the pages upside down. Apparently they thought that made them funny. My senior one was awful too. It has this puffy, beige, leather-looking cover with a seriously disturbing picture with the words "Because We Can." Because we can what?? Make you buy a hideous yearbook and not give it to you until you're already away at college and couldn't care less about this thing?

My freshman yearbook had a terrible cover. It was this really ugly shade of green with huge red lettering that said "YOU ARE HERE" and then there was this huge red arrow pointing down. I kept on thinking to myself "I know that I'm here. I don't want to be here?"

omg, my brother's senior year yearbook was like that too (97-98). Half of the yearbook is upside down, and the yearbook index is in the middle of the book... But part of the index is upside down, too.

When you open the yearbook starting with the FRONT COVER, you get the last pages of the yearbook -- upside down.

Worst yearbook ever made. :wallbang

btw, my sophomore yearbook had a really weird cover. I forgot what exactly it said on the cover, but there is an actual footprint on the cover - so, yeah, I don't know. Not my fave cover, tho.

 Yeah, srsly. My brother dated this gal who was a year behind him in school (his '98 to her '99) after they graduated from HS, and she and I became fast friends. We were having a discussion about their high school yearbooks one day several years ago, and I was gripping about their '98 yearbook. *muahahahah* Thank you!! This dick truly deserves his reputation to be badly ruined!

My money has been refunded by temporary provisional credit!!!! I'm so happy!!!! This has been taken care of since the 23rd. All of this was done within a matter of eight days since I first discovered this. I'm so glad!

This isn't even also the bank's fault as well. The government needs to make this dick really work hard to recover the money to my bank and to any other person he's stolen money from for the rest of his life. It's not fair to society.

My next step is to find out if this little ****er works at the restaurant where I last used this card. If it's the case, then I want to take care of getting this restaurant and the people out!

I got back from Fullerton on Tuesday and it's great to be back home with my parents and my cats.

I'm really excited about the Fall semester because I'm going to be living in the dorms. I wasn't able to live on campus in the spring; they only have 800 spaces and there are 35,000+ students. I had to live with a boyfriend and girlfriend and it was hell. They constantly fought and he moved out. She broke up with him and he didn't take it very well. At least it didn't affect my studies.

There will be none of that when I move back to Fullerton in August. No more nasty breakups, no more boyfriends and girlfriends (I will be living with three other guys and I'll have a room to myself) bickering, and hopefully I won't be living with any neat freaks (the woman I lived with even admitted that she was a neat freak). I also won't have to walk twenty minutes to get to campus. Best of all, there is a workout facility in the residence halls and that means I can work out every day. I know I have a while to go before then but I'm still excitied about this coming fall.

Awww. :bighug:

When my sophomore year ended in 2001, the junior year English teacher retired. So I ended up with a new teacher for English in the fall (but she was by no means a new teacher - the year I was a junior was her 28th overall year in teaching). This fall will be her 7th year teaching at the high school I attended... blows my damn mind she's been there that many years already.

Now what boggles my mind is this:
My sister is the class of 2012. I will be 33 & 1/2 when she graduates high school. :faint:

Even more frightening:

My nephew: Class of 2015
My niece: Class of 2016
My nephew: Class of 2022

Ok, I'll be older than dirt by then. j/k
One of my cousins is pregnant right now, and due to have a baby at the end of October. Because of that, their soon-to-be second child will not be starting kindergarten in 2012... they start in 2013 instead and will not graduate from high school until 2026.

I've got THREE cousins going to kindergarten this fall, so they'll be in the class of 2020. Heh.

When you get inside you’ll find yourself a cheery land
Such a happy and joyful an perky merry land
They’ve got lollypops and gummie drops and candy things
Oh so many things that will brighten up your day
It’s imposible to wear a frown in candytown
It’s the meca of love at candy cave
They’ve got jelly beans and coconuts and little hats
chocolate vats It’s a wonderland of sweets
Find the candy train to town and hear the candy band
Candy bells it’s a treat as they march across the land
Cherry ribbons stream across the sky onto the ground
Turn around, astounds it’s the dancing candy tree
In the candy cave imagination runs so free

There are many things to see in the city. I actually don't live in the city, but 45 minutes away, and I haven't actually been to the city itself in six or seven years. So there are probably a lot of things that have popped up over the last couple of years that I haven't even seen. There is Lake Michigan, Navy Pier, two zoos, a whole bunch of museums (The Museum of Science and Industry is really cool) and many great places to eat.

On the same tape I have Vanna White as a contestant on The Price is Right (she never makes it out of contestant's row) and Stephen Colbert on Win Ben Stein's Money (along with Lewis Black and Beth Littleford) from the late 90s (back when Kilborn was hosting TDS).

I should have gone through these tapes ages ago

Recently I've begun to accept where I am in life. I have moved beyond the feeling of meaning I had lost after I'd graduated Americorps, and learned to embrace the opportunities I have now, today.

I am in a position to actually learn an important skill. Something I'd never thought I'd want to learn: Cooking.

How this will help me in the future, I don't know. But this is not merely a job. It's a way to another place. And I am grateful to have it. And I am eternally grateful to the individuals who lead me to this place. It's not my life-long ambition or career, but it's a good fall-back.

I went through a long period of morning over the sense of belonging and purpose I had last year. It often made me hate my job. I kept wondering, "What am I doing here? This isn't my place!"

I'm better now. But I still haven't lost sight of where I'm going. At least I'm not working for minimum wage at a dead end job for a boss that I hate.

This is where I am. So let's do this thing!!!

I said no. I'm so proud of myself. Because I was true to myself and not tempted by what others told me to do. I don't think she was terribly happy with me the rest of the day but hell! I can't make everybody happy. And I will only make one person that kind of happy.

I've drawn the line. And no one may pass so easily. :)
