That's how it usually is. You will find something other than what you're looking for at the moment.
Oh, yeah...it is! How funny...

But did you find the cell phone??
 Now lose something else and you'll find your cell phone! :D
Yeah, I did. It was actually on my stomach because I was lying on my couch. I was so excited about the VCR remote that I failed to mention that in my post.

I don't know what was wrong with me Mike! lol I took something to help me sleep and wham I was loopy!

That has happened to me a number of times. Sometimes if you take something like a sleeping pill it doesn't work well with other medications that you might me taking and will actually have the opposite effect. If I take a sleeping pill with my Paxil instead of getting sleepy I will develop so much energy that I can't sit still.

Awww Brad, I feel good because you're happy. Isn't it just great talking to people on the phone? PMs and e:mails are great, but with this aching neck of mine, writing is a biotch, lol, and the phone is just easier.

I'm glad you and Tara had a nice conversation. She's a total sweetie pie. I know how easy you are to talk with, and I really enjoyed our marathon chat last week, and I look forward to the next time. :biglove:

Yeah, it really is so much easier talking on the phone. Between your neck and back problems, and my freaking A.D.D., it can be extremely difficult at times, writing long PM's. I'll still always write pm's as well, but it is so much easier getting across what you're trying to say, on the phone. Not to mention the fact that you're able to put a voice with the words, and that's always cool!!

But yeah, between finally getting over the flu, to getting the pleasure of talking to both you and Tara on the phone, this has definitely been a great couple weeks for me. :D Sure beats the hell out of lying in bed with a migraine, or sitting on my knees in front of the toilet, puking my guts out, like I did the previous two weeks!! (Not a pretty thought, I know).

Anyways, I'm looking forward to our next yackfest as well. :gossip If it's anything like our first, I know it'll be alot of fun!! ;)

Ha ha, PLEASE, wish me luck. I had been really successful on not smoking, then a trivial "thing" happened (that caused me to LITERALLY run to 7-11) to buy a pack of cigarettes; but today, I just came to the conclusion, that I want to quit this God awful habit, so I went to Vons, bought the Patch, and hopefully, this time I will (FINALLY) quit smoking!:)

Good luck, Tara. :)

j/k. I hate talking on the phone; don't call me. I have talked to an SO'er on the phone. But then I moved and got, well, a couple different phones in the process, and haven't talked to him since.

And another dude here keeps texting me. God, he's SO annoying.

I don't know, Heather hasn't been bother us and hasn't been bothering him either, I believe him. So now I'm thinking about giving him one more last chance. If I do, he will be well aware, this is his last chance, and if he screws up, he won't get me back. I don't know. I'm going to sleep on it, but I can't decide. I know my mother will kill me but...I don't know. What do you guys think? I'm actually smiling again though, which is why I'm posting this in the FGD lol.

I feel good, because after 3 frustrating days, I'm finally back online, and have my phone number back. The phone company came over on Friday to hook things up for our new neighbors, and when they did, somehow they ended up screwing things up, and changing our phone number. We had no idea for two days what the problem was, and why we were unable to get online, or why we weren't getting any calls, until yesterday when my mom somehow figured out what the problem was, and they came and fixed it this afternoon. The worst part about the whole thing wasn't the being offline part, but the fact that my mom is on emergency call for work, and because of Qwest's mistake, she missed 4 emergency phone calls, and her job ended up being a madhouse this weekend. ohno: Fortunately though, they weren't huge emergencies, so everything's okay now. I'll tell you one thing though, we better get atleast a month's worth of free service after that huge mistake!!!

Thanks Janice, it's nice to be back!! :) Yeah, it's annoying when big companies like that make such careless mistakes, offer you absolutely no kind of compensation for your trouble, and then expect you to be satisfied with their service. I'm just glad nothing serious happened at my mom's job, or with her Aunt who's dying, and that she was around to figure out what the problem was. Not even Qwest was able to figure out what they screwed up, and it ended up being such an obvious thing. Anyway, before this starts sounding more like the complaint department than the feel good department, let me just say that I'm very happy to be back online!!

Thanks Tara!! :D It's kind of strange, because I was actually in the middle of responding to you giving up smoking and going onto the patch on this very thread, when qwest screwed everything up. Here's what I wrote around 3:40 pm on Friday in response to you quitting, but was unable to post:

Yesterday, I had enough; so I went to Vons and spent 30 bucks on the patch, so (no more) running to 7-11 and screaming at the cashier for cigarettes:lol:

The Patch has works wonders. I have not had any cravings for a smoke; the only set back on using the Patch, is that it makes me kinda of sick in the stomach; last night, I was at a friend's house; and I seriously, thought I was going to toss my cookies. I just found a spare bedroom, and laid down for a while; so with the grace of God, soon, I will be a non-smoker (this time forvever):)

This was nice to read esp. since I'm not having a good week. I found out one of my former teachers (7th grade Language Arts) that moved to NC in 2000 is back in TX. She's been back since 2003, but I didn't know that. I came across her e-mail address. I wasn't sure if the e-mail address listed on the school district website was up-to-date or old. I figured it couldn't hurt to try. I sent an e-mail not knowing if I would hear back or not. I did. :) Here's a portion of the e-mail, this is what made me smile and feel a little better: "Jenny!!!! How is one of my all time favorite students? It is so good to hear from you!" Sometimes it really helps to know that people care. :D

It's been past 80F today, and it's just gorgeous! Beautiful to wear a tanktop and shorts.

I am finally going to make it to the evening Step Aerobics class. My classmates were telling me on Wednesday that this class does a lot more moves than the morning classes. It'll feel weird actually doing Step Aerobics in the evening as opposed to the early mornings. The good thing about this evening class is that I don't have to take clothes to shower over there. I just come home and shower over here.

I am going to be leaving in about ten minutes so I can get a good spot. Now I can attend Step Aerobics three times a week. Sweeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

I just got back from the evening Step Aerobics. My classmates were right. They move a lot quicker, and the instructor just dove in on the faster-paced moves. There were also some varied moves that he doesn't do in the mornings. I liked it! It was nice to attend an evening class. I don't get as tired as the morning one. I think I will make it every Friday to be able to work out three times a week with Step Aerobics. Plus, I will be walking around the track more often now that it's getting warmer and lighter now with Daylight Savings Time this Sunday! Woohoo!! :D

That's great news. I quit smoking almost 20 years ago, and I didn't gain any weight either. Quitting is one of the best gifts you can give yourself. Keep up the good work.

It actually came out pretty good. I can taste some of the orange-y flavor, but it's not strong or too sweet. It just adds some flavor to the chicken. Try it one day. :D

It was a blast, and it was meant to be; for some reason, even for a Friday the traffic was light, and this is LOS ANGELES, county...the only down fall was, the waitress that brought Allison the wrong food:rolleyes: and it is took an hour, as well, but that was okay; we spent most of our time, laughing.
Oh yeah. I DON'T eat seafood. Period. And guess what was on the plate they gave me? SHRIMP. :grr: I took a look at it, thought to myself "NASTY" and shoved my plate aside.

Turns out they gave MY food to someone else AND I got that someone else's food. Gee, thanks. lol but I did get the correct food later and it was ****ing AWESOME. I'm just glad they corrected my order instead of being *******s about it, because if I'm ever in Long Beach again, I'll definitely come back to Pete's. lol

At one point you were on the floor and she scooted way over to me to talk to me... when I say she scooted over, she made sure our legs were in full contact. My husband and I had a nice day today. After living in this town for almost three years, we joined the local libary. He checked out a WWII coffee table type book, and a book on tape. I took out a book on dealing with chronic pain. Then we went for lunch. It was just a sweet day.

What made the day even sweeter was that TJL sent me a card and an Irish charm -- one of his fantastic creations. It has a couple of clovers, and it's hand painted with our names. It's very impressive, and it really made my day. It was so thoughtful of him. I guess I should be thanking him personally.

UGH, there are some parts of it that I have a really hard time with beating... like this one frosty stage on the second floor in the castle. You have to go up the spiral staircase to get to the second floor, and then you have to go into that room where one side of the room has that mirror on it, and you have to look into the mirror to find the hidden picture. THAT'S the one I'm thinking of. Maaaaan.

Haha, it's cool. :) And the Super Mario Bros. games do get awfully similar after a while. JUST REMEMBER! The All-Stars game you're referring to there was a COMPILATION of past SMB games they had made up to the time Super Mario All-Stars was released [in 1993].

To make things a little more confusing, Nintendo actually released TWO versions of Super Mario All-Stars (if I recall this correctly). One of the versions did NOT include SMW. The other version, which you are playing right now, included SMW. I know -- confusing, right? Yeah, I don't get it, either. One of the games they packaged in BOTH versions -- The Lost Levels -- was released only in Japan (I THINK). It never had a US release until Super Mario All-Stars came out.

...Whoa. I didn't realize I knew all of this about All-Stars. But, anyway, there you have it. :)

You know, I just remembered that I got an original copy of Super Mario 64 for my Nintendo 64 sometime last year. I think I'll have to go pop it in again.

Yeah, I knew the differences. I was just being neglecient(sp?) on properly labeling them, and....ahhh...nevermind. I just hate giving the impression I don't know something when I really do.

Yeah, I am also in the mood to play some, but my computer is running slow at the moment. I gotta do some maintenance and backup some stuff to free up some hard drive space and memory so it runs smoothly. Do you also have the ZSNES and RockNES emmulators?

Oh, it's okay! I didn't know. Disregard that, then. :) Once you get me started, tho, I don't stop. Forgive me?

I don't use these emulators, I think, altho I do have NES & SNES emulators. (I know I use Jnes as a NES emulator... not sure about SNES, it's been a while) They aren't on my computer... I've got 'em on CDs. So when I feel like rocking out with some ROMs, I just pop in a CD and go. :)

I'm going to Wrestlemania 23 at Ford Field in Detroit Michigan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D I actually get to be a part of history, considering the fact that this event will be attended by 70,000 people, and has already made more money than any indoor event in history, including every Superbowl, Rolling Stones concert, as well as the previous record which was held by Wrestlemania 3, which was also held in Detroit. I get to see 4 hours of my favorite wrestlers wrestling, Vince Mcmahon hopefully getting his head shaved bald by Donald Trump, Aretha Franklin performing live, and the best part is, all I had to pay for, was the airfare. :D Not a bad day, if I do say so myself!! I also get to ride around in a limo, spend three nights at a 4 star hotel, attend the WWE's Hall of Fame ceremony, as well as the premiere of Stone Cold Steve Austin's new movie. Nothing like this has ever happened to me, so it's pretty safe to say that I'm feeling pretty damn good right about now!! :)

Brad Russ

Wow that is cool. I've never been in a limo either. You will have to tell me what you think of riding in one. :) That's also cool that you will stay at a 4 star hotel - nice. :)

I will definitely tell you all about the limo ride, and I will also take a ton of pictures to show everyone as well. I've never done any of this kind of stuff before. Last live event I attended was a blazer game when I was five years old. Best hotel I've ever been in was two stars, lol, and I've never been to any kind of premiere. I'm pretty overwhelmed right now, but I know it will be a blast!! :)

Congratulations to your sister for getting picked to participate in that talent show. I'm so happy for her!! :) It takes alot of guts to get up on stage in front of a bunch of people and perform, so she definitely gets huge props from me!! Like Janice said, don't feel bad about being happy to get some time to yourself. We all need that from time to time. Definitely no shame in that!!

I have been having a pretty rough day today, stressing about this trip I have coming up starting tomorrow morning, but I swear this is true, as soon as I opened your card and read your loving and heartfelt words, my mind and heart was immediately at ease, and I honestly don't have a shred of nerves in me right now, and feel like I can take on anything. Your kind words really touched my mom and I, and I'm actually going to bring your card with me on my trip, so that anytime I start feeling nervous, or self concious, I can read it, and be reminded that I have such amazing friends who care about me, and who are thinking about me, and I will know that I can handle ANYTHING!!! :D I love you soooo much Tara, and I honestly can't even explain in words how grateful I am to have you in my life!!! Thanks Brad. :) My sister doesn't have any stage fright. I'm not sure why, but that's good that she doesn't. Some of the other students have a lot of stage fright so they think that my sister's enthusiasm without being scared will help the other students show their talent more. She's not a shy person like I am. I can't imagine getting up there and dancing like she did. Then again I don't know how to dance. I remember singing the song, Save The Best For Last by Vanessa Williams, in a camp talent show when I was 13 & 1/2 (June 1992). I was nervous. The camp video taped the talent show. I remember thinking that if I messed up it would be on tape. I"m not sure why the camp taped it. We didn't get a copy of it.

That's pretty unusual that your sister wouldn't have any stage fright, but hey, I've heard that many famous people have no stage fright, so maybe that's a good sign. ;) I know what you mean though about getting stage fright. I was in a school play in front of 200 people when I was in the first grade, and had to give a little 10 second introduction before the class sang a song. I honestly felt like I was going to pass out, and was surprised that I even remembered my lines. It was at that point that I vowed never to perform live in front of a big crowd again!! I guess some people just have it, and some don't. lol

Here was my line:
I'm sure you will all agree, Santa needs helpers, his favorite is Alfie.

Then we sang a song called Alfie the Elf. I can't believe I still remember that. lol.

I felt bad telling him I haven't because he knows it's my favorite national restaurant. I have been trying to save it for a "good day," but when will that be? So, I used it today and bought my favorite Applebee's dish, Fiesta Lime Chicken! Mmmm!! The dish is now $9.49! Wow!!! So expensive!!! I was absolutely stuffed! I came back home and took about a 2.5 hour nap. All that yummy food made me sleepy.

My e-mail is working again. :)

My sister auditioned at her middle school today (it was after school) for an 'American Idol Type' talent show. I think it's more along the lines of 'America's Got Talent' type talent show because it's not just singing. I was hoping she would be picked. I was worried though that she might not get picked and that her little heart would be broken. She was so excited to audition. My mother didn't think they would let her audition because she's a special education student. They let her audition. Most afterschool activities don't allow special ed. students to participate in, which I think is wrong. Anyway, my sister was chosen. :D She's really happy. She danced. She dressed up and from what I hear she impressed everyone. Apparently at the end of her dance she threw her hat to someone in the audience. When she told me that I thought that was cute. :) I would have liked to have been there to see that. The students who were picked today will practice their talent every Monday and Wednesday after school. In May they will perform downtown. I think that's cool. Hopefully things will go well and she will be able to continue to participate in the program until the end of the school year in May. I really hope it doesn't make me sound like a terrible person, but it will give me a nice break twice a week for two hours on those two days. :) More importantly though, I'm happy for my sister.
That sounds really cool! Hope she brings the house down.

That's sad though that most extra-curricular activities don't let Sp. Ed. kids participate. I can understand not sports maybe, but arts ones wouldn't be a problem. I can see my old drama coach not wanting those kids in his plays tho...he was a freakin hot-headed perfectionist.

I received a text from a local friend I met online whom I haven't talked with since late January. She greeted me, and it made me smile to know she has not forgotten about me. I think she's a great person, and I want to hang out and become her friend. I just can't text reply her at the moment because my cellphone company wants me to pay some of my high bill first, but their online payment option is down tonight. Grrr....I didn't want her to think that I am neglecting her text asking how I am doing.

Also, I received an open invitation for a local friend's (the best friend of the girl above) upcoming birthday celebration at a music club next Wednesday. I am very interested in attending, and I want to RSVP!!! I will wait until tomorrow or Wednesday to RSVP the invite because I don't want to look overly desperate. The bridal shower was interesting. Overall it was fine except for the person who was in charge of the bridal shower. My friend wasn't the one in charge of the shower. The girl that was in charge was very rude to everyone and was getting on people's nerves. She kept making a huge deal out of the fact that she was the one who put the whole shower together and she was very overbearing. The girl kept running over to my friend whenever she would try to talk to others at the bridal shower. I only had a chance to talk to my friend once for about 30 seconds. When it was time for refreshments I tried to go over to sit by my friend and a few of her friends, but there wasn't room at the table. I thought about pulling a chair close to the table, but the girl in charge prevented me from doing so. I sat in between my friend's mom and her great-grandma which was across the room. We had to wait for nearly an hour and half for my friend and the girl who was throwing the shower to show up. It was supposed to start at 2:30pm, but they didn't arrive until nearly 4pm. When they did arrive the girl that was in charge of the shower made a big deal out of why she was late. She emphasized that she had to go and pick up my friend, who doesn't drive. The weather also wasn't very good on Saturday which also caused them to be late.

Everyone played a few bridal shower games. I even managed to win the first game. :) The first game was called "How Well Do You Know The Bride?" It had ten questions. I got 8 out of the 10 questions correct. Because I answered the most questions correct I received a prize. It was a stationary with cards and envelopes. It was nice. I will definitely use the stationary cards/envelopes. The other few games were harder.

I'm glad to hear that you had a nice time, Jenny. :)

I have gone Swing Dancing before, and I agree with you, Tara. It's a lot of fun! My only problem is that I have no partner to dance with. I've gone there, and the instructor or one or two guys already with girls will ask me to dance for a song. After that, I don't have anyone. All the guys over there already have a dancing date, so it's convenient for them.

That's too bad, Mona. I'll miss getting the chance to meet you in person.
I know. I thought of you. :( Honestly speaking, the Barry Conference never responds to our emails or calls we've sent them this year and last year concerning questions about the conference. Well, if you find an upcoming Adobe conference in Chicago in the next coming months, keep your eyes peeled and let me know. Then, we can try for that.

Can I have some? :D
 As I told Tara, we already finished them, but next time I will make some more for especially you two. ;)

Mike, great news about your dog!!! :D

Here is a picture of my friend and her husband at the church. Please don't quote the picture, thanks.
Just to let you know for future reference - when you attach a photo, others cannot quote it anyway. It's only when you actually post the entire URL when others can quote it, so there is no need to worry about others quoting pictures you have posted in the past. :)

We got a second opinion on our cat from a different vet. My mother and sister brought our cat Chava in this morning. I didn't know my mother was planning on bringing him in today. I'm the 'safe' person because I wasn't along for the vet trip. It helps if we have one person who is considered the safe peson for Chava. Even though we are only doing what's best for him he can't understand that so having someone who feels 'safe' helps him. The vet today thinks the new brand of kitty litter we used for about three weeks was causing problems. We have since gotten rid of that and it's made a difference. We think that Chava had a reaction to it. We think that he got some in his ears which lead to irritation from bacteria. We have some special ear wash for his ears and some ear drops just in case there is an ear infection. The vet isn't certain whether it's an infection, but doesn't think it is. The other vet wanted to remove his back nails which from what we have learned is against the law unless you can prove that it's in the best interest of the cat. Early last week we bought what are called soft paws from PetSmart. You place them on the cat's nails so that when the cat scratches he can't hurt himself. The soft paws are safe and cannot hurt the animal. The soft paws have really helped and soon we will be able to take them off. Hopefully soon Chava will be back to his usual 100% self. :cat:

I hope that Chava is feeling better, Jenny. :)

Thanks Mike. :) Chava is starting to feel better. We think the ear drops and ear wash are helping. I hate to see animals suffer. I hope Duke is continuing to make progress and get better. I hope the solid food is still going down ok for him.

I'm glad to hear that Chava is doing better. Duke is having a much better week this week then he did last week. :) As am I. :)

Distance: 16.534 miles
Max speed: 19.5 MPH
Average speed: 11.3 MPH
Time: 1 hr 27 min 49 sec
Calories burned: 471.7
Fat calories burned: 48.5

^^^^^ from my bike ride today. I remember when I got serious about losing weight, I could barely do more than two miles at a time on my bike without stopping. I would stop to catch my breath ALL THE TIME. Which is funny when you think about it, because I've always loved biking all my life- I just didn't get too serious about it until two years ago.

Once I've got my stamina back to where it should be, I can breeze through my 15+ mile bike rides with no problems. When it's warmer, I'll be able to do 20 miles in one shot. And these pounds will continue coming off! Hell yeah!

I hope Chava is feeling better soon. Those soft paws sound cool Jenny. Beats ripping his nails out, in my opinion. Keep us posted. :)

I need sunglasses. Badly. The problem is, though, I'd need prescription sunglasses lens. I've had clip-on sunglasses in the past, but I've always lost the stupid clip-on.

I'm going to go in next month, or something, and get them to do so with an old pair of glasses that I own.

I did my body fat testing today in Step Aerobics. It's the last class session of the Spring term. I am at 14% minimal body fat!!! That's a 5% decrease since late January! Woohoo!!! </end gloat>

It was also open gym, and I rode on the stationary bike for about 6-7 miles. :D

That is awesome..woooohooooo. I love working out. I walk, almost ten miles a day, because not only am I in good shape, but walking also clears my mind and makes me feel wonderful physically as well as mentally:)
Exactly! I totally agree with you here. It makes me feel soooo good. There have been a couple of times where I was soooo angry or annoyed before walking/working out, and after working out, the feelings just dissipate. Such a great stress-reliever, indeed!

:bighug: Aww Thanks :) It certainly is. I got to the point where I had to let go of all the things that were stressing me out because I didn't want to get sick like I did last year.
