"My Mom, Me, and Him"
Starring Raven-Symone as Kendra Collins, an 18 year old smart and beautiful young adult. Kendra lives in her New York apartment with her mom, Lisa Collins (Tisha Campbell). Lisa was 18 years old when she gave birth to Kendra. Lisa always raised Kendra alone (except from help from her parents). Lisa is a fashion designer, who is currently dating Bobby King (Malcolm-Jamal Warner). Bobby and Lisa have been dating for 6 months now before Lisa invited Bobby to move in with her and Kendra. Kendra is not too fond of Bobby, but is happy her mom found someone. Bobby tries and tries to win-over Kendra-but no such luck really. Across the hall from the Collins' apartment lives Trey King (Darius McCrary), Trey is Bobby's little brother. Trey set up Lisa and Bobby. Lisa's older sister/best friend, Holly (Kim Coles) lives nearby, and often drops by. Holly is a middle-aged single women who can't find a "good man" like her sister did. Kendra's older, funny boyfriend, Kyle (Deon Richmond)
In the pilot, Bobby turns to Trey for advice on how to propose to Lisa. Bobby ends up just proposing to her during a romantic dinner. Lisa says yes, then tells Holly, Trey, and a not-so-thrilled Kendra. Meanwhile, Kendra gets a job at the small, local coffee shop nearby their apartment.
