One Big Family
is about a family, including: Karen (Penny Marshall) who owns a big house in Minnesota. A recently divorced Karen let her elderly widowed mother, Mary Ann (Betty White) move in with her. Karen also let her daughter: Stacie (Leah Remini), and teenage granddaughter: Brynn (Lindsay Lohan). Stacie become a teen mom halfway through her senior year of high school With Karen, Mary Ann, Stacie, and Brynn all living under the same roof, problems are bound to arise. Mary Ann is retired, Karen is a bookkeeper (for a grocery store), Stacie is a kindergarten teacher, and Brynn is unemployed (at the moment). Brynn and her family live down the street from Brynn's best friend, Erica (Mischa Barton). Erica and Brynn are typical high school senior girls. Stacie's ex (boyfriend) and Brynn's dad, Chris (Matthew Perry) visits occasionally to see his daughter, which drives Stacie absolutely insane as she has to put up with Chris.

Episodes


Ep1: Pilot Episode:
Karen, Mary Ann, Stacie, and Brynn adjust their lifestyles to fit with each others. Brynn learns her best friend, Erica lives near by.

Ep2: Day Off:
Karen takes the day off, as Stacie ends up getting sick and needs someone "her mommy" to take care of her. Mary Ann is not happy with Brynn's choice of clothing when she takes her great-granddaughter out for an afternoon of shopping.

Ep3: Return Of Ex:
Stacie's ex/Brynn's dad, Chris returns to town with news of him moving in to an apartment in town. Brynn is excitedly happy at first, but soon changes her mind after knowing Stacie is not equally thrilled by Chris's news. Mary Ann and her friend, Janice (Debbie Reynolds) get into an argument, resulting in the two not talking to each other. Karen, in hope of getting her mom off her back, tries to get Janice to apologize and make up with Mary Ann.

Ep4: Partying Disasters:
Brynn and Erica go to an all-night party at a local drinking party. They get plastered and stumble back into Brynn's house at 4 AM the next morning. They end up making too much noise and end up waking up Stacie, Karen, and Mary Ann. The three women are furious and disappointed in the girls. Erica begs them not to tell her parents. After hours of the girls pleading for them not to call Erica's house, the women don't call. Erica and Brynn get a big lecture from each of the three women (sharing their stories/memories from their past).

Ep5: Colleges:
Stacie asks Brynn about her future and if she plans to go onto college next fall. Brynn is clueless about her future, which makes her seriously think about colleges and career goals. Meanwhile, Mary Ann drags Karen along with her to an evening at the BINGO hall for BINGO. Karen and Mary Ann ends up switching cards, Karen wins off of Mary Ann's old card. Mary Ann feels her daughter should split the money, as Karen disagrees.

Ep6: Losing Value:
Brynn confides in Erica that she is pregnant (after having sex with an unknown guy at the party a couple weeks ago). Brynn tells Stacie, who tells Karen, who tells Mary Ann, who feels free to tell everyone else. Brynn is scared and kind of wants to keep the baby. Stacie supports her idea, as Chris and Karen agree Brynn is not ready. Stacie agrues "Neither was Chris or I, but we made it work".
