What line do you think is most memorable in a song? The line that stands out to you in the song? To me, in Oh Father by Madonna the line is, "You can't hurt me now." P.S. It should be ONE lyric that sticks out.;) :p

There's so many that I don't really have a favorite. But today the lyric that's sticking out is, "My favorite dreams of you still wash ashore." - Something I Can Never Have - Nine Inch Nails.

This line from Jim Croce's "Workin' At the Car Wash Blues" always stood out for me: "Working at this end of Niagara Falls is an undiscovered Howard Hughes." :)

It's from the BBC version of Family's "Second Generation Woman!"
Oh yeah, and it's also from Aretha Franklin's remake of Otis Redding's "Respect." Maybe some of you have heard it. ;)

Don't hold on to the past
Well that's too much to ask
- "This Used To Be My Playground"- Madonna
The light that you could never see
It shines inside, you can't take that from me
The secret that I hide, will I grow old
How will they hear
When will they learn
How will they know
-"Live To Tell" - Madonna
It's like a dream, no end and no beginning
-"Like A Prayer" -Madonna
Don't try to find me
please don't you dare
Just live in my memory
you 'll always be there
- All I Wanna Do" -Heart
Something's missing and you got to
Look back on your life
You know something here just ain't right
-"What About Love"- Heart
Who am I kidding
It wasn't meant to be
But you wanted a believer
And I needed to believe
And if I could've been your angel
I would've found a way to fly
-"Why Don't You Love Me"- Amanda Marshall
I was alone in the silence
'Til I was hearing your voice
I couldn't see my way clear until you parted the clouds
And you gave me a choice
I couldn't pick up the pieces
'Til I was falling apart
I didn't know I was bleeding
'Til your love fixed this hole, baby, here in my heart
- "If I Didn't Have You"- Amanda Marshall
Have you no shame, don't you see me?
You know you've got everybody fooled.
Without the mask
Where will you hide?
Can't find yourself,
Lost in your lies
I know the truth now
I know who you are
And I don't love you anymore
-"Everybody's Fool" - Evanescence
Hold on to me love
You know I can't stay long
All I wanted to say was
I love you and I'm not afraid
Closing your eyes to disappear
You pray your dreams will leave you here,
But still you wake and know the truth
No one's there.
-"My Last Breath"- Evanescence
It's been three days
You come around here like you know me
Yeah you want me so you're messed up too
- "Love Me For Me" - Ashlee Simpson
Step by step, heart to heart, left right left,
We all fall down like toy soldiers.
Bit by bit torn apart, we never win,
But the battle wages on for toy soldiers
It's getting hard to wake up in the morning,
How can it be
Only emptiness remains, it replaces all, all the pain
- "Toy Soldiers" - Martika
If you looked in my eyes would you see what's inside
Would you even care
- "Dreaming Of You" -Selena
I've learned how to deal and when to fight
I know what's real, I know what's right
The winds of the heart can blow me down
But I get right up and I stand my ground
-"I Don't Know" -Celine Dion
I was the last to know
And it's no secret
Because you told everybody
I never thought we'd ever part
Ohh, no
Why was I the last to know
- "It's No Secret" -Kylie Minogue
Could've been so beautiful,
Could've been so right.
I'll never hold what could've been,
On a cold and lonely night.
- "Could've Been" -Tiffany
I took it for granted
but how was I to know
Now it cuts like a knife
but it feels so right
It cuts like a knife
but it feels so right
- "Cuts Like A Knife" -Bryan Adams
Are you gonna walk the walk of life with me ?
Are you gonna see more than you dreamed you'd see ?
Are you gonna walk hand in hand with me ?
Can you be the one who sets my shadow free ?
Are you gonna try and understand with me ?
Are you gonna be the best that you can be ?
Are you gonna walk the walk of life with me ?
Losing my reality, only you can bring this back to me
With you I want to spend my youth
With you I want to live the truth
This is where our life begins
Don't let me walk alone,
There'll always be a place for you,
A time a perfect space for you,
Are you gonna walk the walk of life with me ?
See more than you ever dreamed you'd see ?
Be the one to set my shadow free ?
- "Walk Of Life" - Billie Piper
She reached out her fingers
To point at the sky
Leaving me helpless
Not knowing why
And this is the hour
That they turn out the light
Nothing but memories
Burning so bright
Burning so bright
-"Magic" - Paul McCartney
That soul betraying so and so
The devil's radio
You wonder why I don't hang out much
I wonder why you can't see]
- "Devil's Radio" -George Harrison
