If you were trying to describe Seinfeld to someone in as few words as possible, how would you describe it?

"The show about nothing" is neither descriptive nor completely accurate.

It's pretty unique so there aren't many shows to compare it to.

The humor is so subtle and offbeat it's hard to explain without either sounding stupid or making the show sound unfunny.

It's quite a conundrum, isn't it?

Good question. I have always thought of it as a show about something. There was always something going on, not nothing. I'll get back to you on this one.

Kinda works. I like that Dutabi84- That's a good way of explaining the show.

A show about the NYC misadventures of a comedic neat-freak, a slutty bookworm, a neurotic loser and a lanky hipster doofus.

Unapologetic reality of a NYC stand-up and his underachieving friends.

In the words of Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David:
"No hugging, no learning."

Shiznit.... throw in the word "quirky" & "dialoggy" & that's pretty spot on. I like the descrip of each character (slutty bookworm - now that's my kind of gal! )

Orville's take is good too.

I never replied to my own thread.

How about...

"Four New Yorkers and the minutae of their everyday lives."
