Before he became friends with members of the White House Press Corps, french valet Jean Passepartout, former manservant to Phileas Fogg, was the press corps "#1 enemy". Or so he said so. This was during the Monica Lewinsky affair. As he was President Clinton's and Former First Lady Hilary Rodham Clinton's valet. Despite not alway agreeing with their politics, he felt still it was a duty to be loyal to the First Couple no matter what was said or done. Nor no ands, ifs, nor buts about it. But when the press corps attacked then press secretary Mike McCurry at the White House Press Briefing two days in a row. Passepartout, who was passionate and vulnerable as well as wore his heart on his sleeve, decided to take matters into his own hands. By attacking the press corps...THE PASSEPARTOUT way!!
Then while the press corps was out taking a little break especially the network correspondents after doing their stand-ups. When a newly brought back Sam Donaldson came back to ABC to help out in the ratings, infurated his anger even more. Mike McCurry was out to lunch after he told the frenchman that he would also get him a bite. Passepartout told him he was so, so, sorry about all of the hardships he was going through and all of the scapegoating. But Mr McCurry told him that stuff happens. It ain't the first time nor the last time it will ever, ever happen. It would only get worsen he frowned. Then Passepartout thought in his mind..."No way Monsieur McCurry. I will make sure that it doesn't go too far and out of line.
Then, while the press corps saw Passepartout as no immediate threat whatsoever due to his small build. But very, very atheletic due to his days as a martial artist and gymnast past. Then soon to be replacing press spokesman Joe Lockhart was eating lunch with another press aide and they were taking bets quietly on who Passepartout would beat up on. Since Passepartout saved Lockhart not once but twice from muggars. Also he had powers that you can think of. From lightning to laser beams. "Better be careful Passepartout or else you will get your walking papers!!" quietly warned Lockhart.
Then as the press corps were laughing out loud and causing chaos. They were unaware of what was going to take place. Passepartout walked up and quietly but fastly came up on Wolf Blitzer of CNN. Then as he did, he kicked him from behind. Then threw him over the pavement. Then he started chocking Sam Donaldson badly and nearly poor Sam was out of breath as David Bloom of NBC and Scott Pelley of CBS were running after getting take-out to stop the violatile frenchman from beating the two other correspondents down. Then he stopped beating up on Sam and went after Bloom and Pelley now. He punched David in the stomach really hard and then did a judo move and threw him over circle style. A tomenage pushing him with the frenchman's foot. Then he punched Pelley in the groin. As Pelley was holding his groin..the frenchman then did a roundhouse taekwondo kick. And knocked Scott out really, really bad.
The frenchman was being held by veteran former NBC turned ABC reporter John Cochran as he was trying to stop Passepartout from anymore damage being already done. Then as like Scott was going to get up as his nose was bleeding and knock out Passepartout. KICK!! He kicked poor Scott again. Then he went out and knocked Cochran out. Then a voice familiar to him calmed him down. It was Mike. "Let these people go Passepartout! Right now!!" Then he saw Mike and then relented reluctantly. Mike then grabbed the bloodied frenchman as Scott threw him several punches. But all were no match for the valet. He saw not one, not two, not three, not four, but five!! Count em five men down on the floor bloodied to death.
"What the &^^%** do you think you're doing?" yelled an angry and very, very outraged Mike. "Do you realize that they were just trying to do their jobs you....you....stubborn frenchboy!!?"
"Look I didn't mean to...but..." cried a now remorseful frenchman.
"But what?" yelled the demanding press secretary.
"They were hurting you people and I couldn't let them hurt you Monseiur!!" cried the sweating frenchman.
"They were doing their jobs!! And they could press charges against you! For beating them probably until they were dead!!" as the press aides helped the five correspondents.
And got some medical help to the correspondents badly beaten.
Then as Mike grabbed the frenchman by himself..he told Passepartout he wouldn't tell on him and that he would persuade those five not to press charges and that he needed to take a time out.
But told him that he better not harrass the press corps ever, ever again by under any and/or all means. Never! Ever!
That Mike himself would take care of the press corps if they get out of line. And that was of course, his job taming the press.
Passepartout agreed to keep his end of the bargan. As well as apologized to the five men.
Then the next day, the frenchman came by. And about laughed at their injuries. He also apologized wholeheartedly to the men for the thrashing and thought they were hurting the President.
They didn't agree with the beatings but agreed to accept the frenchman's apology.
And in their "words", they dealt with worse, they laughed only half-kiddingly and half-seriously.
If they manage to due their jobs responsibly as Mike explained to them about him perhaps.
Sam had a neck brace. While Wolf had a bandage around his head. David had a back brace and was hurting. As David told the frenchman that he would have to wear the brace for at least six weeks. Sam the same. Wolf had to only wear the bandage about two weeks since he had the minimum of the bunch.
But it was Scott, who was hurt the worst. He had a cast-like around his nose. And he groin was hurting him and he couldn't do his daily jog for about six weeks to.
Passepartout made them homemade soup and gave them soft drinks to make up the whole entire ordeal.
But one thing was sure and certain. Don't mess with a frenchman. Especially one so loyal to the White House.
