I haven't watched this show in awhile cause of my work schedule. I have a 2nd job at night so by the time i get home, the show is already gone off. I've tried to set my vcr to record the show but nothin happens when i try to set the vcr to record it.

Time to get a new vcr or a dvd recorder with your extra money!;) Nothing much has been going on. Tia and Robert are back togther and Dirk and his wife act like they don't like each other any more. But that comes and goes. Debbie Allen was on there playing Niecy's mother and she was funny as usual!! Last week some white dude tried to punk Robert because hedidn't like the way Robert was coaching the children's basketball team. In the end Robert tried to take Tia's 'high road' advice and as usual it failed so Robert went ghetto and put him in check, the end! :)

Does anyone think this show has what it takes to last another couple of seasons? I haven't seen much of it- i think maybe only 3 episodes and I wasn't giving them my whole attention... this show seems kind of unremarkable to me- yet at this rate I think it's Duane Martin's longest running series, and the thing about UPN's sitcoms is that unless the show is pulling horrible ratings they'll keep it on for the entire season. Duane Martin is a tad dull as a leading man- not unpleasant but not very charismatic or compelling. Same thing with the woman who plays Tia who used to be in the Hughleys. LisaRaye has a banging physique and all, but is that enough to carry a series?

I don't think this shows has what it takes to last another season. I wouldn't be surprised if this show goes on hiatus. I think the only thing that it truly has going for it is the little boy. He is just too adorable.

JamesAnthony you're right about everything you said regarding Duane, Elise, LisaRaye. None of them have what it takes to be a star on a tv show. The only thing going for LisaRaye is her looks & her body. That's the only reason somebody gave her a chance to be a actor. She's ok for a actress but she's not great. She finally showed some versatility in the movie Civil Brand which i think she did a good job in. She wasn't wearing any makeup in that movie. Felicitylen that little boy is adorable.

I was surprised that it made season two. As far as Duane Martin, didn't that first show he appeared in with Morris Chestnut do at least two seasons? The second show he was in with Vivica Fox and Jon Cryer wasn't that bad. The problem was that it was on FOX, the station that has a VERY sharp axe!

This past Tuesday's episode was nice. LisaRaye & Duane's son is so adorable. He cracked me up when he had a dream that Twista was rappin his Overnight Celebrity song to him & he was dancing. I thought it was unrealistic for Duane to buy his son a Twista cd when the boy is only 4-5 years old. He shouldn't be buying him a cd with cuss words on it.

I thought that was odd myself! I don't listen to rap but I was pretty sure Twista wasn't G rated! That's what confused me!

KingConan what's been happening lately? I haven't watched it since the christmas episode. I saw LisaRaye on BET's Coming To The Stage last week as a celebrity judge.

Last night's episode had Mase in it as a friend in church. His testimonial prompted Robert and Tia to get engaged so I guess this means that they'll have a big wedding episode next month. I never followed Mase's music, though I read his autobiographical book. He's better off being in the church than in entertainment, his presence in this episode was unusual, like he never acted before which I don't think he has. I haven't watched series this much so I can't tell if Chris Rock's brother and Terri Vaughn are already married or just going together

Mase is better off as a preacher cause he sucks as a rapper. His latest cd Welcome Back hasn't sold well at all. I think Tony Rock & Terri Vaughn broke up. JamesAnthony what's your opinion on the white dude who plays on the show? I don't like his character at all cause he always says somethin corny. He doesn't fit in with the show at all. LOL@his name is Turtle hahahahahaha. What kinda name is that for a character?

I haven't watched this series much so I don't know the white male character. There is a white woman who is Neicy's friend who I remember, she looks very severe with arched eyebrows like a brunette version of the girl from the Roger Rabbit cartoons. What it is is that I think there is a kind of edict that these African American shows have to have a token white character in them because the networks are promoting integration. It's basically the inversion of what happened in the late 60s when blacks began showing up as the best friends or co-workers in otherwise all white shows.

The white lady that you're talkin about that works at the school with Terri & Elise Neal is in the picture up above & they don't show her anymore. I saw her on the first episode when the show first debuted & they haven't shown her since.

No it's a different woman. She has arched eyebrows and her son plays with Bobby and is half black.

I saw the episode with Maze and it was basically the same episode The Parkers did with Yolanda Adams. The summary of both episodes was almost the same, a friend with a wild past comes back as a preacher and he or she gets the the main characters to go to church for like one episode. Personally I liked the Parkers episode with Yolanda Adams, but didn't really care for this one with Maze, I guess cause Maze can't act at all. The only good things that came out of this episode was Robert proposing to Tia at the end and Janal and Dirk trying to get along, I really want these two to really fall for each other. Besides that this episode was pretty weak, imo.

The Parkers had several episodes in church, although to tell you the truth from the way they behaved in most of the episodes you wouldn't think those characters went to church on the regular, either that or they went to a church that I would avoid at all costs because their behavior was outrageous. The problem with putting characters from these UPN AA shows in church settings is they make the black church world look stupid. Since Neicy goes to church does this mean that she is going to tone down her personality and get rid of her body hugging clothes? If so there'd be no reason for her to be in the show.

As for Mase, you're right he can't act at all and personally I heard his cd and it wasn't very good. He's wasting his time trying to make a comeback in the rap game, he should do something else like entrepreneurship or something.

No he definatly can't act!!! Ha Ha Ha! I thought hea was a preacher or something! There are gospel rappers, he should do that. As far as Niecy seeing the light. It should go back out next episode!

The fact that he's not doing gospel rap seems a tip off to me that he can't really rap all that well. Not to diss the man but as a rapper his appeal is questionable, but then again look who his mentor is: P Diddy. To me people like JayZ and NAS can rap, Mase is wasting his time in hip hop period. I've heard some of those gospel rappers like Cross Movement and they have genuine rapping ability. Kurtis Blow is doing gospel rap too which I haven't heard but he was a good party type rapper in his time so it must be interesting.

Mase reminds me of how some young men who are black and grow up in the inner city only see themselves having limited options for becoming rich: rapper, baller, actor, drug dealer. Aside from preaching someone like him should maybe go back to school and get a liberal arts degree and study something apart from just finance and really become a bit more well rounded. From what I hear he's rich, he could afford to do something like that.

I didn't know Kurtis Blow does gospel rap now. I love his old songs AJ Scratch, Basketball, Christmas Rappin, The Breaks. Mase is a terrible rapper. When he talks, he sounds like he's retarded LOL. I knew when he came out with Welcome Back song that his cd wasn't gonna sell as well as his first cd Harlem World. Look at the artists that he had on his first cd like 8Ball & MJG, Black Rob, The Lox, DMX, Busta Rhymes, Monifah, Total. Those artists helped his cd sell very well plus the fact that he was on Puff Daddy's No Way Out cd which sold millions. I was never impressed with him. When i first heard him on Puff Daddy's Can't Nobody Hold Me Down song, he did alright but it wasn't like i knew i was gonna buy his cd when it came out. He used to go by the name Murder Mase before he signed with Bad Boy. Him, Camron, Big L(RIP), McGruff used to be in a group called Children Of The Corn. I saw people on the internet saying he was a tight rapper when he called himself Murder Mase but i find that hard to believe. Mase left the rap game after his 2nd cd Double Up cause he was scared that he might get killed after he saw what happened to Biggie & 2Pac. I don't know what made him change his mind about coming back to the rap game all of a sudden. Did you know DMX is talkin about being a preacher? Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha.

I just read today DMX got scammed for $6,000 by some dudes that were claiming to be his relatives hahahahahahahahahaha. Anyway this past Tuesday's episode of All Of Us was interesting. Bobby is supposed to have a.d.d. which means attention deficit disorder. That means he's not able to concentrate. His teacher Janelle told Duane Martin & LisaRaye that he's not doing that well in school. I think i might have the same problem cause i've never been able to focus when i was in high school & that's why my grades were average when they could've been a lot better. A.D.D. might also be the reason i don't have a full time job where i have to use my brain cause i've never been good at figuring things out on my own.

02-17-2005, 09:38 AM
isiahthomas are you trying to get on some kind of benefit by claiming you are a.d.d? Let me know if it works so I can get it too!! I have the same problem! :D

isiahthomas
02-17-2005, 05:33 PM
No i'm not trying to get any benefit for my problem. I'm gonna seek help for it though. I wonder how i go about doing that without having to pay somebody. MarvinG you really have a.d.d. or are you just being sarcastic? I'm not joking about my problem. I seriously believe i have a problem figuring things out & remembering what i read & study.
