I know the hour-long "ALF" Christmas special is pretty popular. I can't think of many others right now.

The Dick Van Dyke Show - "The Alan Brady Show Presents"
The best episode of the series.
I defy ANYONE to not laugh at the "Alan Brady, Alan Brady, Alan Brady, Buddy Sorell" scene.

"Death Takes A Holiday," a M*A*S*H episode from 1980, is not only a great Christmas episode but one of the greatest episodes of television... ever.

I've always loved the Family Matters Christmas episodes.
My favorite is the one with the bum.... which one is that??
(I'm thinking "Miracle on Elm Street", but I'm not positive)

Yep...
Have Yourself a Very Winslow Christmas
Alone and fending for himself during the holidays, Steve shatters Laura's old fashioned Christmas ornament along with holiday visiting privileges at the Winslows'. Meanwhile, Carl does battle with other shoppers as he searches for a scarce teddy bear for Richie.
It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Urkel
Laura snaps at Urkel when, through his clumsiness, accidentally breaks an expensive crystal ornament. Laura fumes out loud that she wishes Urkel could just see what it's like to be her, and then maybe he'd understand. So, Laura's guardian angel does just that ... but as part of the bargain, he has Laura see what it's like to walk a mile in Urkel's shoes.
Christmas Is Where the Heart Is
Urkel and Carl are stranded on a stalled subway with a car full of grouchy shoppers. Urkle teaches everyone, including Carl that Christmas is a state of the heart, and can be celebrated anywhere and with anyone.
Miracle on Elm Street
Richie brings home a homeless person on Christmas.
Fa La La La Laagghh!
Carl's bah-humbug attitude toward Urkel's rooftop Christmas decorations changes once he learns that winning a decorating contest could bring the Winslows a sackful of holiday cheer. Meanwhile, Harriette is saddened because Laura and Eddie seem to be too busy to participate in family Christmas activities.
It Came Upon a Midnight Clear
Laura finally gives Curtis the old heave-ho now that Stefan is back to stay. Meanwhile, Carl and Steve get lost in the woods looking for a Christmas tree.
Deck the Malls
Steve gets all wrapped up in the Christmas spirit when he takes a job as a gift-wrapper, but the new gig leaves him little time to spend with Myra; Carl plays Santa at the mall and appoints Laura to be his elf; a disappointed Richie learns that his mom won't be with him for the holidays.

1990 was where Urkel caused the tree to fall and break that old ancient ornament. 1992 was when Urkel fell on Laura's bag and broke that vase for Harriette.
Christmas 1989 and 1991 were the only 2 to not have a Christmas episode.

"Seinfeld" didn't.
Sure, they'd mention Christmas in the December episodes, and sometimes a character would have a Christmas-themed storyline (like George giving everyone a 'donation has been made in your name' card for Christmas) but they never had episodes that were flat-out Christmas episodes. Jerry Seinfeld is Jewish, so that probably explains why.

It really bugs me when they play the christmas episodes of sitcoms when it is nowhere near Christmas, but i love it when they show the episodes on telly, when its close to Christmas, because it gets me in the spirit.
My all time favourite Christmas sitcom would have to Oy to the World-The Nanny animated episode.
