In what has quickly become the norm this season, CBS retained complete control over NBC on Thursday night. However, in a shred of silver lining, Joey did manage to increase its audience, albeit slightly, for the first time. The preliminary numbers show the episode with 13.3 million viewers, an improvement of approximately 0.5 million from last week. However, with just an 8.7 rating and a 14 share, Joey again ranked sixth for the night, as shown by the preliminary numbers.
1. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: 17.7/27
2. Without a Trace: 12.7/20
3. Survivor: Vanuatu, Islands of Fire: 11.6/18
4. ER: 11.3/18
5. The Apprentice: 10.2/15
6. Joey: 8.7/14
7. Will & Grace: 8.4/13
Overall, CBS won every segment of primetime again with a 14.0/22 average, an incredible 40 percent above NBC's second-place 10.0/16. As of last week, Joey ranks thirteenth in the season-to-date ratings with a 10.0/17 average. CSI: Crime Scene Investigation has a stranglehold on the number-one spot with an 18.0/27, while Joey is the number-three sitcom behind Everybody Loves Raymond and Two and a Half Men. Joey will shoot for a second consecutive week of increased numbers next Thursday night.
