Who would you pick in this Michael Jackson/Eminem battle? For those who don't know the story:

Michael Jackson is angered by the way he is mocked in rapper Eminem's recently released video "Just Lose It" and has asked cable music stations to remove the video from their rotations.

In the video, Eminem is costumed as Jackson and is seen with a group of boys in the background, jumping around as he sings about Jackson's child molestation allegations: "Come here, little kiddie, on my lap. Guess who's back with a brand new rap."

Jackson has pleaded not guilty in Santa Barbara County to child molestation, conspiracy and administering alcohol to an underage companion.

"I am very angry at Eminem's depiction of me in his video," Jackson said Tuesday in an interview with comedian Steve Harvey on Los Angeles radio station 100.3 FM. "I feel that it is outrageous and disrespectful. It is one thing to spoof, but it is another to be demeaning and insensitive."

Also in the video, Eminem ridicules plastic surgery done on Jackson's nose, and an accident in which Jackson's hair caught fire while he was filming a Pepsi commercial in 1984.

Only Black Entertainment Television has agreed to pull the video. The network's president and founder, Robert Johnson, said he felt it was inappropriate to disparage a celebrity.

I know some of you don't care one way or the another, that's why I said if you HAD to choose, whose side are you on. The BET thing is interesting, seeing how neither artist is Black, but that's a discussion for another thread. ;)

Personally, I think Michael should lighten up (so to speak). I can understand being upset, but asking outlets not to show the video at all is something completely different. I think Eminem clearly meant it as a joke. Michael Jackson getting the video pulled won't make the real life allegations that the video touches upon go away any quicker.

I am gonna side with Eminem even tho I don't like him.

Michael Jackson is way too treated lie a sacred cow by a lot of younger pop and r&b artists, for what? the fact he WAS somebody? People like Beyonce, Britney, Justin and Usher are so starstruck by them that they convieniently overlook that the man is a pedophile. I am happy someone with clout is standing up and bashing the man for his actions towards little kids. Way too many music artists are so blinded by the fact that MJ used to be the biggest star on the planet as defense.

People are way too defensive of MJ. Has he really been relevant in the last fifteen years? Trashing his action has nothing to do with his music, you can say MJ is sick and still be a fan of his music.

Wow usually I agree with the majority on these things, but I have to go with Mike on this one. I really can't stand Emienem, and its wrong what he has done.

well, musically I far prefer MJ. I don't care for any of Eminems music.

but.. what has Eminem done that was so bad? Michael Jackson is guilty of doing all of it himself. HE is the one to blame for becoming a sideshow attraction. HE is the one who wouldn't stay away from young boys. HE is the one who got those 902 nose jobs

Some younger artists tend to "forgive" what MJ has become, why? Because they have fond memories of Thriller as a child. It is good to see someone with some sense. Have you seen what Michael Jackson has done to himself? he is enough of a self-parody.

I do think MJ was a fantastic performer, but let's face it, that is all in the past, the MJ of 2004 is a much different, sadder individual than the MJ we loved in 1983.

I guess I am thinking about the "...innocent before proven guilty" theory. We all know that what Michael has been doing is wrong, and maybe I am a hypocrite because when Eminem made fun of others I laughed. But none of the others were facing charges that could put them in jail.

:yeahthat I agree 110%

Michael Jackson is fair game for anyone to make fun of him. He's not untouchable, he just thinks he is. This sounds like he's in for a rude awakening. If this will open people's eyes to what Michael is then good for Eminem, but more than likely MJ's fans will probably make him into some kind of saint or something

and this is coming from someone who usually doesn't like Eminem

I finally saw this video today, MJ is waaaaaaaaay too defensive.

Where does MJ get off thinking that it's okay for Eminem to bash Moby, Madonna, N'Sync, Christina, Britney, Will Smith, Fred Durst and others, but hey, target me and I'll fight back?

Michael, YOU'RE A FREAK. You went on tv saying it's perfectly fine to sleep with 12 year old boys. You have no right to get upset when you've done it all to yourself. GET OVER YOURSELF. Just because Usher, Beyonce, Britney and Justin still kiss up to you doesn't mean 90% of the world doesnt think you're a freak and didn't get over you thirteen years ago.

I love MJ's old music, don't get me wrong. But where does MJ get off at this point thinking he's above being parodied when Eminem's made a career of making fun of celebrities. He needs to realize we're not living in 1984 anymore, he doesn't have the adoration of the world he used to have. I personally found Eminem's bashing of Moby to be more offensive, but the same outlets defending MJ were all thinking the Moby bash was funny.

Note to Michael: Everyone makes fun of you!

I really don't like Eminem at all, but I have to admit I laughes my butt off at that video

Eminem sucks goat balls and even if he didn't I still wouldn't side with him. I mean c'mon it's horrible that Jackson could be a child molester, but these dumbass jokes about his personal life aren't entertaining anymore. And can someone tell me how a person getting burned badly is so hilarious?

I'm siding with Mr. Mathers.

By the way, this isn't the first video parodying Michael Jackson and it won't be the last.

I wonder if MJ was offended by Neil Young's "This Ones For You" video or did it not bother him because in 1988, he actually had a career of his own to tend to?

MJ is too sensitive AND if eminem can't take someone making a parody/joke video about HIM (ala Weird Al) then he should leave everyone else alone with his "jokes".
