New Episodes

Ep1: Last Days Of Summer:
It's just a few more days until school starts. (Reese will be entering the 12th grade, Malcolm will be entering the 11th grade, and Dewey will be entering the 7th grade). The boys are not looking forward to school starting again. Meanwhile, Francis returns with news of his own-him and Piama are separated, and he needs a place to live now.

Ep2: School And Big Brothers:
The boys start school. Francis tells Dewey to stand up to the school bully, resulting in Dewey and the bully getting into a fight and both gettign detentions---but the bully gets a taste of his own medicine and starts being nice. Lois and Hal aren't happy with Francis's advice to Dewey.

Ep3: Asking The Unthinkable:
Malcolm and Reese both get asked by the two new pretty students-April and Katie (Margo Harshman, Hilary Duff). Malcolm and April go out to the movies with Reese and Katie. Francis gets divorce papers in the mail from Piama, and is unable to sign them-but after a talk with Lois, he does sign them.

Ep4: Into A Home, You Go:
Lois and her sister, Susan (Laurie Metcalf) put their mom, Ida (Cloris Leachman) into a nursing home. Ida asks Susan and Lois to spend the first night at the new place with her and they do. meanwhile, Hal takes Francis to the local singles bar to take his mind off Piama and in hope of finding someone new. But, plans back fire, when Hal gets continously hit on by several women instead of Francis.

Ep5: No More:
While on their third double date with Reese and Katie, Malcolm and April's fighting gets more and more regular to them. Malcolm and April realize their relationship is mostly about the two fighting, and decide to break up. Reese and Katie must go out on dates alone now, they soon realize their dates are boring. They decide to get to know each other better. Meanwhile, Susan tells Lois and Hal that she has bought a house in the same neighborhood as them. Lois thinks its great, but Hal doesn't agree.

Ep6: Oh, So Foreign:
Malcolm gets offered the chance to have him and his family host a foreign exchange student from Sweden. He, without discussing this with his family, agrees to host the exchange student. He tells his parents, who surprisingly are okay with it-only its not a girl. But when the student arrives, its not a boy as planned, its a girl--Trina (Brittany Snow). The family must deal with the gender change of the student as they had planned on.

Ep7: Trina's First Days:
Trina gets settled into the house, as Malcolm's feelings for Trina grow stronger than friendship. Francis gives up his room to Trina to move into, as he prepares to move into his Aunt Susan's guest bedroom at her house a block away. Trina becomes a little too fond of Hal at first. Trina confesses to Lois that she thinks Hal is sexy.

Ep8: Big No-No:
Lois fears Trina has a thing for her husband and tries to set her straight until Trina sets her straight by telling her that she doesn't "like" Hal like that. Malcolm, Reese, and Katie take Trina to the mall to hangout-where the four bump into Malcolm's ex, April (Margo Harshman) and her newest boyfriend. Susan and Francis realize they are a perfect match for housemates, and decide to bond together.

Ep9: The Big Mistake: Part One
Hal is tired of feeling guilty and confesses to Lois, that when she was pregnant with Jamie, he had an affair with his former secretary, Janine. Hal tells Lois that he and Janine only had one affair and it meant nothing to him. Lois becomes furious and hurt that Hal did that and kept it from her for almost two years. Later that day, as Hal comes home from the store, he finds a note from Lois-saying she left, she took Jamie, and is temporarily at Susan's. Hal is stunned.

Ep10: The Big Mistake: Part Two:
Hal rushes over to Susan's, where Lois and Jamie are with Susan and Francis talking. Hal pleads Lois to come back home, but Lois informs him that she wants a separation. Hal is stunned, as are Francis and Susan. Malcolm, Reese, Dewey, Trina, and Katie learn about what is going on with Hal and Lois, and are shocked.

Ep11: Going Home Alone:
Hal decides to go back home to find his three boys furious with him. Hal decides to cook, clean, and other things Lois did-but ends up missing Lois. Hal apologizes to his sons, who eventually forgive him and help him plan to get Lois back. Trina and Katie go shopping together, Katie learns Trina has a crush on Malcolm-Katie spills the beans about Malcolm liking Trina to her.

Ep12: True Love Starts At Home:
Trina and Malcolm confront each other about their true feelings, they share their first kiss. Lois's moping around is getting on Susan's nerves. Francis decides to find a job at a Greek restuarant at a waiter. Dewey's grades suffer due to Lois and Hal's separation.

Ep13: Overseeing Hal:
Hal oversees Malcolm sneaking out of Trina's room during the night and is frightened. Hal is bound and determined to find out what is going on between the two teens. Meanwhile, Francis meets a new employee at the restuarant, Cara (Laura Prepon). Cara and Francis get to know each other. Francis starts to get feelings that he likes her, but isn't sure if she feels the same.

Ep14: Susan Interfers:
Susan is sick and tired of Lois continuing to mope around all day and all night, so she tries to help Hal get Lois back-Lois finds out and is furious with her sister. Dewey comes to Reese and Malcolm for girl-advice. Reese and Malcolm get him a hard time for liking a girl-but they soon learn he likes his long-time substitute teacher, Ms. Roberts (Tori Spelling).

Ep15: Dumped And Vulnerable:
After being rejected by Cara, Francis becomes vulnerable and upset. Dewey's teacher (Tori Spelling) asks him to bring his parent or guardian for parent-teacher conference. Afraid of why she wants to talk to his parents, he begs Francis to pretend to be his guardian and he does. Francis instantly falls for Ms. (Sarah) Roberts, Dewey's teacher. Katie and Reese celebrate their one month anniversary-Reese gets her a necklace, Katie gets him a hubcaps for his future car (as a joke; but feels bad when she sees his gift to her).

Ep16: Trina Calls Home:
Trina must call her family back in Sweden, but doesn't tell them about Malcolm-which upsets him greatly. Trina learns Malcolm is upset, and explains that if she told them about him-her parents would've wanted her to come back home. Malcolm and Trina try to keep their 'relationship' on a need-to-know basis (only them, Reese, Katie, Francis, Dewey, ..and Hal know about them). Lois decides she really misses Hal, and wants him back.

Ep17: When Lois Moves Back:
Lois moves herself and Jamie back in when Hal and the kids. Lois and Hal make up and attempt to put their separation behind them. Dewey begins to "never forgive" Francis when he asks out Ms. Sarah Roberts-even after he knew Dewey liked her too. Cara calls looking for Francis, Susan ends up telling her that hes out on a date, resulting in Cara becoming upset when around Francis (now Cara likes him and wants to date him).

Ep18: God's Children:
Susan's new boyfriend is a big church-goer, and brings her, Francis, Hal, Lois, and the kids to church. Lois and Hal have a hard time keeping Reese, Malcolm, and Trina from talking, Jamie from crying, Dewey from agruing with Francis, and keeping each other awake. Susan's new boyfriend is too much for Susan to handle, she breaks up with him during church and her and the family leave the church right in the middle.

Ep19: Wrongs And Double Wrongs:
Reese and Katie realize that Malcolm and Trina has had sex, and are stunned. Lois learns that Susan's cheating ex-husband is back in town and wants to get back with Susan. Lois is willing to spend the whole time he is visiting with Susan (to keep her from getting back with the sleazeball). Francis must choose between Sarah or Cara, he chooses Cara. Cara once again asks Francis out, he says yes immediately.

Ep20: Bye Bye Friend:
Lois and Hal learn that Abe got a job in Michigan, he and Stevie must live New Jersey and move to Michigan. The Wilkersons throw Abe and Stevie a going-away party. Stevie thanks Malcolm for being his friend since he moved here 4 years ago. Katie and Trina end up wanting to buy the same blue skirt for the party, but can't agree on who can buy it. When the party comes, both the girls are wearing it-thinking the other had backed down.

Ep21: Party-Goers:
Reese, Katie, Trina, and Malcolm go to a party. Malcolm has too much to drink at the party, as Trina gets a lot of unwanted attention from other guys at the party, Reese and Katie spend the whole party arguing over whom loves whom more, but soon realize it is a stupid thing to fight over and quit fighting. Dewey eventually forgives Francis, after dumping Sarah for Cara.

Ep22: Beth's Back:
Lois and Susan get a visit from their cousin, Beth (Patrica Heaton). Beth, Lois, and Susan go to a spa for a weekend to relax, and end up remincising about old times--each sharing their experiences with Hal (Susan stole Hal from Beth 30 years ago, Lois stole Hal from Susan 27 years ago). With Susan gone, Francis has Cara spend the night at their home. Cara learns she doesn't really love Francis as she thought she did. Hal lets Reese, Malcolm, Trina, and Katie take the minivan to New York for the weekend, but end up getting lost.

Ep23: The Romance Is Back:
Hal and Lois's urges for "some loving" are getting the best of them. They decide to go away for the weekend and fulfill their desires. Francis learns Cara doesn't feel the same about him anymore. Reese and Katie decide to have sex, but have a hard time trying to get comfortable-they decide to wait a little longer.

Ep24: Aunt And Nephews:
Susan takes Dewey and Jamie for the weekend, and ends up loving having the two around. Susan thinks she wants to have children, but soon learns the down-side (the discipline) of it all. Cara feels bad for hurting Francis and wants to make it up to him in a friendly way. Francis thinks Cara is toying with his emotions, when she decides to go out with his one last date. Malcolm and Reese have a spat about Reese accidently walking in on Trina in the bathroom changing.

Ep25: Move Over Mothers (a.k.a MOM):
Francis decides to give up on wanting to get back together with Cara for good. Francis decides to go to a singles bar alone, but ends up feeling guilty for telling Cara off so harshly like he did. Hal, Malcolm, Reese, and Dewey enter a father-son triathleton, as Lois being a part of the PTA at Dewey's middle school.

Ep26: The Leading Ladies?:
Trina and Katie both try out for the lead in the school play, both end up not getting it--but April (Malcolm's ex) shows up and gets the part. Trina, the kind hearted person she is, turns into wanting to seek revenge on April badly for taking her part from her. Trina and Katie join forces and plan to cover April's car with shaving cream and toliet paper. Trina and Katie are caught and must spend the night at the police station until a parent or legal guardian comes to pick them up and pays their fines. Trina fears she is be demoted back to Sweden due to her deviant act, as Katie fears her parents will find out. Katie uses her phone call to call Reese for some advice---he and Malcolm beg and plead Susan into being the girls's legal guardian as she does.

Ep27: Katie's Insane Grandmother:
Katie is forced to spend her spring break with her Grandma Ruth (Holland Taylor). Yet Grandma Ruth's occasional drinking turns into a daily (and nightly) ritual. Trina keeps a low-profile around Hal and Lois. Trina notifies Malcolm that she can't have sex with him as promised over spring break (due to her fear of being sent back to Sweden).

Ep28: Reese Vs. Malcolm:
Reese and Malcolm battle for the open spot on the school's soccer team, but after another player get injured-another spot is open----meaning both brothers get on the team and become good soccer players. Lois and Susan take Trina and Katie shopping for prom dresses, but Trina confesses that she doesn't want to go to prom but is going to please Malcolm. The three women console and advice the poor teen.

Ep29: Hal Finds A Job:
Hal finds a better job that pays well. Lois looks for a job, but has no such luck as Hal did. Malcolm and Trina have a heart-to-heart chat about if they are really going to prom or not--Trina changes her mind and they are going--after Trina learns she is on prom court.

Ep30: Prom (season finale):
It's prom. Reese and Katie go with Malcolm and Trina. April gets stood up and goes around looking for sympathy (which people gives her, except for Trina is tells it like it is). Lois and Susan sneak down to watch court...PROM KING AND QUEEN are...Reese and Trina!. Katie and Malcolm are feeling awkward that their dates are dancing together. Francis gets a call from Dewey's teacher, Sarah Roberts (Tori Spelling) asking him out again-he accepts.

Next Season's Episodes

Ep31: Life Decisions:
Reese decides to attend a local community college, but is unsure of what. Katie and Malcolm are looking forward to their senior year starting in a few days. The Wilkerson family sees Trina off to the airport as she heads back to Sweden, which leaves her and Malcolm heart broken.

Ep32: School And Work:
Malcolm (and Katie) enter the 12th grade and Dewey enters the 8th grade. Lois gets a big increase in pay at the store, which makes her decision final-that she will be keep her job at the store. Francis learns he can't live off his salary at the Greek restaurant, so he decides to look for a new job (with a bigger salary).

Ep33: Susan's Day Off:
Susan takes the day off, and decides to take Jamie off Lois and Hal's hands for the day. Dewey learns that his teacher, Ms. Roberts (Tori Spelling) is treating him more special now that she is dating Francis; so Dewey takes advantage of that. Malcolm receives an email from Trina and refuses to let anyone else read it, except him.

Ep34: Hal and The Boys:
Hal, Francis, Reese, Malcolm, and Dewey go on a men-only camping trip to Hal's brother's cabin. Francis and Reese spend most of their weekend on their cell phones talking to their girlfriends (Sarah and Katie) back home. Meanwhile, Susan and Lois go shopping with Jamie, who has a huge temper tantrum in the middle of the mall.

Ep35: New Boyfriend:
Susan invites Hal and Lois over for dinner to meet her new boyfriend, Greg (Jerry Seinfeld). Greg and Hal get along great, Lois is surprised that she actually likes one of her sister's boyfriends for once. Meanwhile, Reese gets accepted into the local community college's paralegal program.

Ep36: Malcolm Meets New Crush:
Malcolm becomes quite fond of the mysterious new girl from L.A., Ashlee (Evan Rachel Wood). Ashlee agrees to hangout with Malcolm, Katie, and Reese. Katie thinks Ashlee is hiding something about her past, Malcolm finds her mysteriousness a big turn-on for him. Francis and Sarah go to Sarah's parents's house for dinner to meet her parents: Larry and Marie Roberts (Stephen Collins, Bette Midler).

Ep37: Pumping Information:
Hal and Lois pump Francis for information about Sarah, her parents, her family life, etc. Francis becomes angry and refuses to let them meet Sarah, until they receive a call from her to ask them to come in and have a talk with her about Dewey's behavior in class. Dewey becomes more talkative and disruptive during class, now that Sarah is dating Francis. Susan and Greg get into a fight, resulting in the two breaking up for good.

Ep38: Brother-Sitting:
Reese and Katie are stuck babysitting Jamie, they soon become in over their head with Jamie's symptions of him having a cold. Susan invites Francis, Sarah, Hal, Lois, and Sarah's parents: larry and marie over for dinner. Francis is not thrilled to have his girlfriend and her parents meet his parents. Malcolm goes out with Ashlee-who confesses she secret of being raped by her birthdad when she was 4, and being raped by her former stepdad when she was 15. Ashlee is still haunted by these memories. Malcolm helps her through them-they end their date with a passionate kiss on her doorstep.
