My memories of Vernon are few and fragmented. The most vivid image I have of my birth father is of him sitting in his easy chair in his living room. Initially, I enjoyed the work because, for once in my world, I got to be in charge. I could tell these kids what to do. As an added bonus, I looked real good to the people around me.

Honestly, the whole gig was about feeding my ego. I didn't necessarily see that I was making a difference, but everybody assumed I was, so it was a nice badge of honor to wear. I work with underprivileged children. Pat me on the back and give me a cookie.
While I was there, I made some friends and acted up like teenagers will--like the time I rolled this other counselor's house.

She and I did not get along. We argued, and in my mind, she was not kind enough to the kids in the program. So in a moment of puerile behavior, I drove to her house in the dark and threw toilet paper all over the trees in her front yard.

The next day she told me what happened. I asked if she knew who had done it. She said she didn't know exactly, but that she was sure it had to be a girl because the toilet paper was only hung on the lowest branches.

That was a proud moment.

show October 1st for one month, the show will be called TOWN HAUL, and on the
January. I'm going to be restoring and designing a whole small town. I'm movin' in! It
is going to be AMAZING!!! I'm counting on all of you to tune in this January on TLC. I'll
be sending you all some update as I shoot. Otherwise, the website will be up and live
and selling things and telling things this November and my showroom also opens in
November in the New York. So everyone feel free to stop by end of November.
