I have been getting a lot of pop-ups wehn I use this site lately,it seems like they haoo tool bar does not help sometimes with the damm pop-ups. Or I am downloading songs on Limewire could that also be possable? I have downloaded softwear to get rid of them, but it's like for 30 days free. You have to buy softwear, but what do you recomend? Before I throw out my computer, which I have not paid up on yet. I do have the windows xp cd,if I have to do that again I will, but I don't want to loose any thing. :bash: :bash: bash The computer

Would you please do the administrator a favor and post threads like these on the main Chit Chat board? This board is for "random chatting" only, TJ (the admin of the site) has addressed it last May, it's a few pages back. Plus you'll get a faster response this way. ;)

Sounds like you might have a spyware problem. You might want to try a free spyware removal program, like Ad-Aware 6 or SpyBot-Search and Destroy. Ad-Aware and SpyBot have freeware versions of each other, but make sure you have the latest version of the reference file (otherwise the program can miss certain items)
LimeWire shouldn't be a problem. It is one of the few P2P clients that is adware & spyware free, so it shouldn't be causing the trouble, however, if you are downloading programs with it, you might be getting spyware.
Also, if you are using IE, and it sounds like you are, you are alot more susceptible to popups and the like. You might want to switch to Mozilla Firefox (mozilla.org) Its a pretty small download and it has a built in pop-up blocker. You could at least use that until the next version of IE comes out, which should have some ad-blocking functionality.
Hope this helps!

For a free popup killer, go to www.snapfiles.com and download "popup manager" from its "freeware" section. For twenty dollars, there's Adguard, which really works and has a spyware detection/removal tool as well.
