According to van-halen.com, Van Halen's 'Live Without A Net' is coming to DVD on September 14. This concert was filmed back during Van Halen's sold out "5150" tour.

I've been waiting for this for while.

I don't think there is enough "offical" concert footage with Dave to even put together a DVD. I hope they fix the sound on Live Without a Net for the DVD, because the sound on the video is horrible.

I'm sure there is a lot of old concert footage out there. Alot of the bands from the 70's had film crews with them. I think the video from "Chain" came from some of that. IMO I think it is a case of Eddie not wanting to include David in anything from this point on. Too bad. A lot of us who didn't get to experience the original form of VH, would love to see some vintage VH on DVD.

Yeah, i definitely agree with everyone. I would rather see some concert footage of Diamond Dave. Even though Sammy's okay, he doesn't compare to Dave. And, I do think that Eddie doesn't want to release anything from the early days, becaue he's still pissed at Dave (which, i mean, he does have every right to be). But because of their feud, fans are missing out some really great concert footage, that's probably in Eddie's closet or something collecting dust.

The music video from "Unchained" did consist of concert footage, but a camera crew was probably purposely hired to shoot live fottage for that song, so what appears in the video is probably all there is. I've seen a pre-MTV video for "You Really Got Me" and of course there are the videos for "Pretty Woman", "Jump", "Panama" (also made up of concert footage, again footage shot for this video), and "Hot For Teacher". However, no one is going to put together a DVD of six videos. And even if they did that isn't a concert. One has to remember that VCR's did not become common place in the home until about 1982. So since pre-1982, few people had VCR's rock bands really did not shoot much concert footage because there was no where to release it. Led Zeppelin had The Song Remained The Same, but that was purposely taped to be released as a concert video for theaters, the footage from Where The West Was One was never to known to exist until a couple of years ago. So there mighr be a concert or two filmed with Roth, but the chances are slim. If concert footage with Dave really exsited it would have been released years ago and Eddie would have no say in the matter, because the footage would be owned by Warner Brothers records.

there's also a "video" for So This Is Love also from Fair Warning, so I have a feeling there may be a complete 1981 VH concert out there somewhere, as there were two music videos taken from the same live performance.

One can only hope. Like everyone else, I would love to see a live DVD from the Roth era.
