Modern Sounds In Country and Western Music by ray Charles, I found that for sale for 1.00 at a thrift store. I have a record store who might buy it, and give me more money than I paid for it. But I have him a Melissa Manchester album, Melissa(Which came out in 1974), and he rejected it. So I am stuck with an album I can't use, because my record player is broke. My dad has Michael Jackson's Thriller album(the record which came out in 1982, not the CD.) How much do you think I could get for that? But I do not think my dad will appreciate me selling his Thriller album.

An album by Ray Charles is really valuable right now.

Do you think the record store I went to will buy it from me? Not to sound prejudiced, but when I told someone about the record store not buying the Melissa Manchester album, they said "Well, that record store you went to is basically for black singers and isn't Melissa Manchester white, which is probably the reason they didn't accept the album from you." They told me the store should buy Ray Charles, though.:D . The name of the store sounds very jazz/blues like.:)

Ask 100 people if they'd rather have a classic album by Ray Charles or a classic album by Melissa Manchester, 99 would choose Ray and the 1 left over would probably accept the Melissa Manchester album as a frisbee. It has nothing to do with race, there's a big difference between Ray Charles and Melissa Manchester, especially when it comes to record collectors.

Janice, Vashti is right, it has nothing to do about race, its more about what is more of a collectors item. :)
