with the exception of Paula, MJ and Janet's "Janet." (but a comprehensive Virgin video collection is coming to DVD in Sept featuring all the videos spanning 1993-2004) and the rhythm Nation movie... the rest what you're looking for are out on DVD. If you're getting a DVD for Christmas, I'd just go ahead and get those already

It's interesting this subject came up, just this week I was able to transfer my old Prince VHS collections to dvd-r: the Diamonds & Pearls Video Collection, 3 Chains O' Gold collection, the Gett Off and Sexy MF maxi videos and Prince & The Revolution Live. I hadn't watched any of them in years because of the dvd revolution.

I've got the Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation 1814 VHS. If I'm able to transfer that to dvd too (assuming it's not copy-protected) I'd be willing to sell my VHS original to anyone who wants it.

When you say Rhythm Nation 1814, you are talking about the one that has only four videos(The Knowledge, Black Cat, Miss You Much Rhythm Nation(Longform version), but has a storyline, right? The one that came out in 1989? Not the one that is a collection of her seven video hits(Miss You Much, Come Back To Me, Black Cat, Rhythm Nation,Escapade, Love Will Never Do Without You, Alright), right, and came out in 1990 and is called the Rhythm Nation Compliation? People always get them confused.

Do you mean that there isn't a possibility that I will find Paula Abdul's Straight Up at a thrift store?

Can you please tell me what happened in The Knowledge, Rhythm Nation(Longform version), and what happened in the storyline?:o. On a website, they said with the Longform version of Rhythm Nation, you get the full story of the boy who is looking at the Rhythm nation dancers, instead of just seeing him look desperate as he does in The Rhythm Nation Compliation. They said you need to watch the Rhythm Nation 1814 movie to see the whole deal. :)

Why would you want a synopsis of a music video? I don't get it.

Okay, I'll describe all the videos to you: a bunch of camera shots are edited together while a song plays over them.

There you go.

Check out any Goodwill stores that may be in your area. I have seen Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson videos there!!I went to a Goodwill store and that is where I fouynd Straight up. At another thrift store, I found Janet Jackson's Rhythm Nation Compliation this year, but I already had it, so I left it. I bought RNC from spec's last year. I spent almost 22 dollars fat Spec's for the same tape that was only $3.16 at a thrift store! What VHS have YOU found at Goodwill of Paula and Janet?;)
