Yeah, I know it's not considered "cool" to listen to emo but I don't care.
Any Taking Back Sunday fans here? What's your opinion on the latest album 'Where You Want To Be'?
I've had their debut 'Tell All Your Friends' for a while and I thought it was cool (although not a patch on 'Your Favourite Weapon' by Brand New - and what's the deal with TBS stealing most of their lyrics?! ). 'Where You Want To Be' got a lot of flak in the music press for being stale and not living up to the promise of the first album. But I think WYWTB is actually better than TAYF. 'Set Phasers To Stun', 'A Decade Under The Influence' and 'Little Devotional' are the best tracks IMO.
And has anyone seen the 'Fight Club' homage video TBS did for 'Cute Without The E (Cut From The Team)'? That's one of the best vids ever! :D

Taking Back is one of my favorite bands ever. I met them at Warped Tour and honestly almost had a heart attack. They got me into so much good music and I would have loved to thank them for that.

Like you said, people make too big of a deal over the whole "emo" thing. Everyone has a different opinion on what it is and I don't think it's that important.

Personally, I love the new album. I mean, did people really want an exact copy of TAYF? Everyone is giving so much grief because of John Nolan leaving and forming Straylight Run (also one of my favorites) and how they can never be the same and blahblahblah.
"Set Phasers to Stun" and "The Union" are my faves.

Also, the whole stealing lyrics thing wasn't really stealing. Jesse from Brand New and John who used to be in TBS were/are best friends and someone stole someone else's girlfriend. Jesse wrote "70 Times 7" about it and then John made a play on it with "There's No I in Team" but they were OK with it.

PS. If you don't listen to Staylight Run, I would highly suggest checking them out.
