Prince, during a recent concert in Miineapolis talking about a new song: "We'd like to play it for you here, because we know radio won't -- at least not in the Twin Cities. It's all Clear Channel ... clearing the channel from funk."

I definitely have turned off listening to commercial radio in recent years, the quality (or lack thereof) of the music being one reason. The monopolizing of companies like Clear Channel is another reason. And now they have a say in concerts as well as radio, it's a bad thing. When you see who that company is tied to (GWB), it's no surprise that they want to control all we see and hear. Clear Channel: puke:

Clear Channel owns many stations in the Hudson Valley like for example, Kiss-FM 96.1, WRWD, Star 93.3 (formerly Z-93), 92.1 Lite-FM, Cool 92.9 (formerly 92.9 Rock), The Cat 98.5 and other AM stations like WGHQ, WKIP, WELV and WHUC are all broadcast the "Music of Your Life" as part of the quadcast on 4 different dial positions. As you probably know, the "Music of Your Life" is still playing standards is still the network for stations that are no longer in NYC like WNEW-AM and WQEW.:( I remember back in 2002 that WLUX in Long Island was dumped the "Music of Your Life" standards format for a talk radio format with a new call letters WLIE. In the NYC area, Clear Channel also owns a few stations like Z-100, Power 105, KTU 103.5, Q-104 and 106.7 Lite-FM. They were all part of the market.

Add to that a special place in hell reserved for a certain single-named performer who shall remain nameless but is not Cher or Donovan!

For all you Clear Channel freaks, you should listen to some classic WABC musicradio airchecks from this website musicradio77.com (http://www.musicradio77.com).:D
