I just realized that George Petrie, who played one of Eddie Haskell's father, (I think it was the one where Eddie is going to go to Alaska) and maybe other eps, was one of the guys in the Honeymooners who played many different characters. I never put that together before. Did anyone else notice this?

I first saw George Petrie on "Dallas". I think he played a lawyer friend of Jr's., Then it seems I saw his face on other shows and realized he had been in show business for many years. Honeymooners he is on a lot. I believe I have seen him on the later color Honeymooners also. When I think of his early years working with Jackie I wonder how it was to work with limited rehearsal. Jackie I am told didn't rehearse all that much. Dallas I am sure they went over the scenes much more. I think George died a few years ago. yr 2000 ??

From all the Honeymooners reruns I have seen, it seems he was almost a regular. He usually played a co-worker of Ralph's.

Actually, he played so many roles. Like the psychiatrist, and so on. I always thought it was funny that he and the tall guy always played different people.

I forgot about the psychiatrist, and that was about the funniest fo all!
He was also a writer for the tabloid where Ralph thought he was going to die! :D

George Petrie also did a guest appearance on the New Leave it to Beaver as George Haskell. It was a very poignant episode.

I think he played Harve Smithfield on Dallas. He helped Jr out of sneaky stunts. So he was in New Leave to Beaver. What happens to the other actor who played George in the episode where Wally and Beaver take the train home and tell the conductor their dad fell out of an airplane. . I can't think of his name. He has a prominent role on Little House on the Prairie. I recall his character on LHOTP as a scandinavian name.
