What is WGN? I know its a channel, but I dont have it, and I never see it on the TV Lineup. Is it a network station?
The far-more common WGN is "Superstation WGN", which is essentially TBS with somewhat older shows, more movies, and Cubs/White Sox/Bulls games.
WGN (WGN9) is also the Chicago-area WB affiliate (only available in the Chicago TV market area). It's mainly just your standard WB affil.

Are you sure you don't? I get it here, I had it when I lived in California, it's a pretty nationwide channel.
It might depend on your cable co. maybe they don't want to carry that channel for some reason :)

I get the Superstation version. I watch the Noon and 9pm(1pm and 10pm ET) newscasts sometimes. It used to air Full House several years ago and aired Family Matters up til last year(along with TBS) until it went to ABC Family.
Where I used to live didn't carry the channel either, but it's avaliable in 95% of the country.

I would send them an email asking them about it, it can't hurt. :)

 WGN doesn't seem like a digital cable type of channel to me. I've always only had it on basic cable.

Yeah it's on our basic cable, channel 16 scrunched between WUAB an independent Channel out of Cleveland OH and TBS, it was funny there for awhile cause of WGN calling themselves "superstation" and TBS was "superstation"

Yeah... I still refer to TBS as TBS Superstation even though they dropped the label. Always have referred to WGN as simply, WGN.

If I don't have WGN on my digital cable, WPIX is better than WGN which is owned by WB. Yep! WPIX is a New York station for WB.:)

Really? WGN is a pretty good station, I remember when they originally aired WB shows, I was sooooo mad when they quit that, then our WB station moved 7th Heaven, Angel and all the good shows to 10 pm, and they changed what days of the week they aired.

Yeah mine 2. We used to have both UPN and WB seperately, but then Cox in Rhode Island dropped all New York and Massachuesetts networks so we ended up having NO WB. so now our local UPN station airs random WB programs at odd times like 2 am on a Saturday.

I love WGN; I have the network here in Southern California, and watch The Rockford Files, and right now WGN is showing McMillan and Wife:)

anyone else remember the days when WGN used to broadcast the WB series? Like Buffy, Charmed, Dawson's Creek? this was in the late 90's, but at the beginning of the 99-00 TV season, they switched, so my city went Buffy/Charmed-less for a few weeks until we came up with our very own WB channel.

I watch The Rockford Files on there, too. :) WGN's been around in my area for more than 20 years and fortunately, I've been able to watch it all that time.

Here, the WGN Superstation feed is right on lower-end basic cable, on Ch. 9 (Think about that a second, the significance will come to you...)
As for that WB station that airs UPN content: Until last season, the WB affil available over-the-air (Read: Antenna) here did the same thing...

When I first got TBS in 1978 it was on channel 10 and WGN originally was on channel 8 around 1981 or 1982. Then as I got more channels they moved to higher numbers. This was in NC. When I first moved to PA I didn't get any of these channels and I still don't have WGN back.

I wish there was a way to combine WGN's local and national programming together, the local programming is no better than any other typical WB station.
However, here's what I would do with WGN's local and national feed, make them into one station (meaning what you see in Chicago is exactly what you see elsewhere). Realistically, I know this would never happen because programming rights, etc., but this is for fantasy purposes.
Weekdays--all times Central
5am WGN Morning News

10am Sharon Osbourne
11am Andy Griffith
11:30 The Beverly Hillbillies
12pm WGN News at Noon

There's no way of that happening here in San Antonio since my cable system where I live I have WGN(the national feed) and the WB Station KRRT-WB35-San Antonio. You can't have 2 WB stations competing against each other with the same lineups.
