Spears Engaged to Dancer Boyfriend

NEW YORK (AP) - Pop singer Britney Spears is engaged to her dancer boyfriend, a representative of Spears' record label confirmed Friday. "I can confirm that yes, she is engaged," said Sonia Muckle of Jive Records. Spears, 22, and Kevin Federline, 26, have not yet set a date, Muckle said.

The two began dating a few months ago, after Spears' wedding to childhood friend Jason Alexander in Las Vegas in January. That marriage was annulled within days.

Federline appeared in the movie "You Got Served" and performed as a backup dancer for singer Justin Timberlake, Spears' former boyfriend.

He was previously involved with actress Shar Jackson, of TV's "Moesha." They have a 2-year-old daughter together and are expecting another baby in July.

Spears recently canceled her summer tour because of a knee injury she suffered during a video shoot. Her latest album, "In the Zone," was released in November and has sold more than 2.6 million copies.

Spears will not stay long in that marriage,she's young,she still likes to party and stay up all night and she likes to do things on her own,unless he got her pregent I don't think this will last.Also her singing has become more trashy likes Christnia A. Britney didn't have a cd out until like 1999... Christina is 10xs better now than she ever was before despite a trashier image. Britney has taken on a trashy image AND gotten worse over the years.

Anyways, Britney sure knows how to pick winners. :lol: I wish I knew a time frame for how long they've been together because just 8 months ago he got his ex knocked up. :lol:

He has a two year old child with the other woman Shar Jackson, so it was a long term relationship. Jackson issued a statement the other day saying that Britney and Kevin are perfect for each other because they both smoke, drink and cheat. She's obviously bitter.

There was a lot of buzz about this a few month's ago, with Britney Spears being labeled as a homewrecker.

"Extra" brought you video of Britney Spears with her new boyfriend Kevin Federline, and from Southern California to Sweden, the two have been inseparable. But back at home, Federline’s ex-girlfriend is steaming, and she’s speaking out.

Shar Jackson, Federline's ex-girlfriend, revealed to "Extra" that watching the images of her ex and Spears are incredibly painful. She and Federline were together for four years, have a 2-and-a-half-year-old daughter and are expecting another baby in July.

Shar told us she was devastated to get a call from Kevin telling her that he had "hung out" with Britney Spears. "I was like ‘hung out?' What does that mean?" Jackson told us. "I definitely thought it was a one-time thing, but I guess I was wrong."

Shar is slowly accepting the fact her relationship with Kevin is over and that she'll have to raise her growing family alone. But she wishes her ex wasn't enjoying the attention so much. "Kevin wants to be a star, and now he is," she said. "But he lied to me, so blunt in my face."

Jackson knows a thing or two about stardom -- she's an actress who's played in movies like "Love and Basketball," and she's been on TV shows like "Moesha."

But Shar wants to make one thing clear -- her problem does not lie with Britney: "Kevin made that choice. He destroyed the relationship, not her."

So what about reports that Jackson now wants a word with Spears? To that Shar responded: "What do we need to discuss? The only thing we need to discuss is, you know, when she's ready to baby-sit. That's it."

I mean, Jennifer Lopez hops from boyfriend to boyfriend and it's "okay" since she's a celebrity (she's married to Marc Anthony now, yet was still with Ben less than 6 months ago, and was dating Ben less than a month after she seperated from Cris Judd... and same with Cris Judd with Puff Daddy, etc...), but yet this guy leaves one woman for another, but since he's NOT famous, he's a scumbag deadbeat... so she's pregnant, doesn't mean he has to stay with her.

I like Britney Spears but i don't think this is right. I don't think she should get engaged unless she is really in love with this guy. I really used to like her alot but lately i don't know if she deserves my respect. I mean but whatever makes her happy i guess. Britney Spears says she's met her "prince" after kissing a "bunch of frogs." And her fiance, dancer Kevin Federline, says he's "known for a while that she's the one."

In their first interview since their engagement, Spears, 22, and Federline, 26, gush to People senior editor Todd Gold about their whirlwind romance (they met in April), her five-carat diamond ring and their desire to have a big family (Spears wants four, maybe five kids).

Is she rushing into things? "This is my life and I don't care what people think," she tells People. "I'm going to get married. I'm in love."

Those rumors about a shotgun wedding? "I'm not pregnant," she says simply. Clearly, for Spears, love is the center of her life right now, perhaps even eclipsing her passion for music. The pop star, who in January had anulled a two-day marriage to a childhood friend, announced last week that she was engaged to Federline.

Between the kissing, the hugging, the "oh, baby's" and even some lap-nestling, the couple recount Spears' marriage proposal aboard a plane heading to New York after her European tour ended.

"We always talked about how some people don't have to get married when they're in love then all of a sudden I said, "what if you want to get married?" And I kind of went from there to asking him if he would marry me." Federline said no.

"I was taken by surprise. I thought the guy was supposed to ask the girl. So a couple minutes went by and then I asked her."

"My head was spinning," he says. "I'd known for a while that she's the one."

Spears: "Oh, baby. Really?"

Federline: "Yeah."(Kiss, kiss.)

The couple won't divulge any wedding details, but Spears says she checked the Internet to find a wedding planner to start plans immediately. She picked out her ring — a five-carat diamond, set on twin diamond-encrusted bands — about a week ago.

Spears has plenty of time to plan the big event. At least four months. That's how long Spears will be recovering from a June 8 knee injury, which meant she had to cancel the last leg of her Onyx Hotel tour. "I was ready for a break," she tells People. "It had been a great tour, but my head wasn't really into it." A greatest hits album is due Nov. 16.

Federline has met Spears' mother, Lynne, and gets her blessing. "They're a good fit," she tells People. And Spears has met Federline's parents. The pop princess is looking forward to meeting Federline's 2-year-old daughter with actress Shar Jackson, who is expecting a second child next month.

By the time he met Spears in April, Federline says, his relationship with Jackson "was already done. I love my children more than life itself. My kids will always be a part of my life." And it sounds as if kids will be part of the Spears/Federline family, too.

"I'm not going to say if it'll be soon," says Federline. "We're starting with a dog," adds Spears.

Just like Shar said in the interview Kevin wanted the attention and now he is getting it. I think they are both enjoying the spotlight. Hmm...how has Britney's cd been going? Kevin is a back-up dancer. Hmm...it's all making sense now. If they do get married, you better believe that it won't last. I'm just assuming that she makes more money then him and in a society like ours, it's almost a sin for a woman to make more then a man. Just my observation (J-Lo and her back-up dancer). Anyways, people shouldn't worry because it won't last. She is a young person, she's not ready to be a mother yet, especially to someone else's young children.
