I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but, in Evansville, IN, there is a subdivision called "Langford".
Coincidence?

Roseanne once said, on Oprah, that Landford is based on Elgin, Il.

I'm curious to know however, in the show there are alot of things that say "Lanford" on them, The outside shot of the diner, the gates to the Lanford Country Club, were they just made for the show, or are those real places?

The signs are probably real and they added the lanford part digitally.

The name Lanford is derived from the city of Llanview in the soap opera One Life to Live.
