 Brushes with fame

I found this message from someone who met Frank and Ken.
(CC&P)
My wife and I were at the TV Land Convention in Burbank this weekend and got to speak with Ken Osmond and Frank Bank (Eddie and Lumpy). We asked about LITB being packaged into DVD season sets, and Ken's answer was pretty discouraging._ He said there is a major turf war over video rights to the TV series being fought by a couple of corporations. Sadly, his exact words were "I don't know if we'll see "Leave it to Beaver" on DVD in my lifetime"._ Frank agreed.
On a lighter note, Ken was very proudly talking about his son who is a veterinarian. Ken is the proud father of two dachshunds - the same as my wife and I. We loved Eddie before, and now he's absolutely risen to the top of the heap! ...\ End \...

I sure hope they're wrong about that folks.  :(
Too much Red Tape going on. Not to mention corporate greed. IMO
:o

I don't want to come right out and say Ken and Frank are flat-out wrong......but I think they ARE incorrect in their assessment about Beaver on DVD.

Mainly due to the recent Universal Home Video publicity guide that was issued to a few privileged souls. This booklet contained shows that Universal claims are "Coming Soon On DVD", and Beaver WAS mentioned.

I'm doubting Universal would even have HINTED at LITB being released on DVD if they didn't have controlling rights, or if a "turf war" over rights were going on.

I'm guessing we'll see LITB Season 1 from Universal sooner than many think.
