Everyone knows Leave it to Beaver is about big brother Wally and little brother Beaver...but how would things have been different if the show was actually titled "Wally and the Beaver". which was the working title for a while. For me, personally, I always happened to have thought that LITB is more about "Jerry Mathers as the Beaver", than it was about Tony Dow as Wally. By putting only "Beaver" into the title, they were essentially saying that the show was about him. But in actuality, the show was about both of them, and Wally especially had a lot more focus put on him and his friends in the later years.
The fact that the show is called "Leave it to Beaver" is even funnier in the context of The New Leave it to Beaver, because Jerry Mather's isn't the main star at all...he's one of 8 leads. Those 8 essentially got equal screentime and storylines.
